original designs, patterns and finished goodes
After making so many orange, rust, and bittersweet pumpkins, I began to get requests for white pumpkins. It took a while, but I finally found a large, vintage, crushed velvet bedspread and purchased it. It didn't come as cheap as I'd hoped, but it was worth the purchase! This velvet is not bright white, but a winter white or ivory, which makes it go even better with the recycled, felted cashmere wool leaves I am using with them. Now for the giveaway --- you will need to do 1 thing: >>> Visit my Honeysuckle Lane Folk Art facebook page and click to share the giveaway link on your facebook page. If you'd like a second chance, leave a comment on my facebook page telling me which item you like best from my Honeysuckle Lane Etsy shop. That's all there is to it! I'll draw a winner on Thanksgiving Day and ship out the pumpkin asap! Thanks, Lana
The Menagerie Vintage Wool stocking.
I've been a little heart sick and distracted lately. I found out that my sweet little girl Sydney has canine nasal cancer while we were in Florida for Spring Break. I was sure that they had it wrong.....that she was just fine....she just had a nose bleed every now and then. But, in the weeks that we've been home she is progressively getting worse. She has terrible sneezing fits which makes her nose bleed so much it's staggering. The worse part is she's just fine most of the day......barking at the mailman.....getting excited when someone comes home.....she wags her tail at me when I ask her if she's a good girl. And then the sneezing fits hit and my heart breaks. I've been doing a little research on-line and I'm shocked to find so many stories just like ours. I had no idea that this was a condition that plagued dogs. At this point I've made peace with my decision to make her as comfortable as I can with our vet's help and we will enjoy all the days we have left together. We have our good days and our bad days. Right now she is sleeping soundly and I'm trying to get my heart back into my stitching. I've started a new sampler that I'm so excited about. It's my big ol' white farmhouse at Hollyberry Farm wrapped in flag bunting. It's going to be amazing. And I think it might just be the thing that will help heal my heart. And you will all never believe what has slipped under my radar.....MY BOOK IS READY. I mean it's printed and in the warehouse ready to go....WOW Oh my gosh.....I can't believe it. It is beautiful thanks to my wonderful photographer and my editor....and all the great people at Kansas City Star. 'My name is Lydia.....Inspirations from a Schoolgirl's Sampler' here are just a couple pics from the book So, if you'd like to have a signed copy I will have a limited number available. They are $27.95 plus travel. Just email me....I'd love to hear from you. Thank you all for being patient with me...I appreciate your kindness and friendship. Happy Stitching My Friends
