After photographing more Blue Grosbeaks I headed 2 and a half hours away to the coast. I knew the high pressure that was forecasted was going to finally stave the fog off the coast. Upon arriving at the beach we located a couple groups of these Caspians. They were pretty skittish but eventually settled in. We crawled to them slowly that latter part of the afternoon a little after 6 p.m. It was hard finding clear and isolated shots for the fact there were hundreds upon hundreds of Heermans and Western Gulls. The sunny skies brought out lots of people so when you waited and seemed to get the perfect condition someone would walk and spook them away coupled with kids and their parents running purposely to the flocks of gulls flushing everything. Nonetheless, we came away with some great stuff of the Caspians finally!! In this shot this guy was voicing his disapproval to the gull that seemed to get to close while it was attempting to land.
