Hello & welcome! Today I have a sweet & fun card to share with you - my Just Add Ink Design Team project for this week's colour challenge and made for my darling man. It's a very supply friendly card, combining the cute & new to me Badger Besties stamp set with my well used fave, Biggest Wish, plus ink and card in Polished Pink and Soft Succulent. Some gold Gilded Leafing adds a luxe touch. And no dies or punches were needed - surprise! Here's my finished card. Let's start with the cute badger pair. I stamped two of the three badger images in the set with Memento black ink and coloured them using my Watercolour Pencils (black, gray & white). I didn't wet the image as I was trying to create the look of fur/hair (do badgers have fur or hair?). Then some fussy cutting & grumbling commenced as I'm a bit rusty, but I got there in the end. To create the background I stamped a cluster of both 'happy' sentiments in the Biggest Wish set. All the block letter images were stamped off first onto scrap. The script 'happy' is full strength. The cluster of words was inspired by the messy grid paper on my desk which had image tests from one of my World Card Making Day projects. Inspiration is everywhere I tell you. Check out Instagram to see what I worked on. The strips of coloured card anchor the badgers on the card, and the gold Gilded Leafing added touches of lovely shine. This was my first play with the leafing and oh my goodness what a mess I made. It does add a nice touch though don't you think? Inside is very simple, replicating the pink strip & stamp cluster, but it all adds to the coordination. So that's my take on the colour challenge. I hope my darling man loves his card as much as I enjoyed making it. Remember to check out the Just Add Ink blog to see all the beautiful cards created by the Team. It's always fun to see how everyone uses the same colours. Thanks for visiting today and I hope my card has given you some ideas to try. Good Morning Everyone Happy Sunday - Today we have Share it on a Sunday Projects for you and the theme is Masking! I absolutely love this technique and it has so much scope to create some beautiful projects. But I kept my Masking simple and used the technique to create a scene using the Treasured Kindness stamp set and this beautiful Tree. Masking this way helps you create depth and real look imagery on a flat surface. Measurements Early Espresso Card Stock 1pc - 4 1/8" x 11 3/4", scored at 5 7/8" 1pc - 3 1/8" x 4 5/8" Basic White Card Stock 1pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" 1pc - 3" x 4 1/2" Subtles DSP Pack Pear Pizzazz 1pc - 3 7/8" x 5 5/8" --------------------------------- Take you larger piece of Early Espresso card stock and fold along the score line to create your card base. Add the DSP to the front and the larger piece of Basic White to the inside. On the remaining piece of Basic white stamp the sentiment towards the bottom of the card stock in the centre. Above this add the tree, slightly towards the right hand side. This stamp set gives you a solid image and a detailed image to really bring your stamping to life.Use a darker colour for the detail, and a lighter colour for the solid image. I used Early Espresso and Crumb Cake for the Tree trunk and Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen for the leaves. Now on a post it note (over as much 'sticky' as you can) or masking paper stamp the leaves again and then fussy cut, keeping very close to the stamped image. Add the Post it Note directly on top of the leaves on the tree Ink up the Sun image in Mango Melody ink and stamp right onto the basic white card, covering some of the leaves you covered. Now gently peel away the post it note and It looks as if the sun is behind the tree! Repeat this masking process with the tree trunk, then ink up the wavy semi circle image and stamp over the base of the tree. This will make it look as if the tree is grounded on some grass.
