Heart of Christmas with Angels of Peace Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. Last week when participating in the Art with Heart Team Colour Creations Blog Hop, which focussed on Cajun Craze, I created two backgrounds - one with water-colour and the other with an alcohol blending technique. I chose the latter for the card created for that blog hop. I loved the water-colour background so decided to incorporate it in the project for this blog hop. The water-coloured background was created using Petal Pink & Cajun Craze Classic Stampin' ink, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and a flat Water Painter. I love using the wet-on-wet water-colour technique (though am still needing to perfect this technique). Water-colouring tends to reveal some of the hues that go to make up a colour. As you can see, Cajun Craze is built on pinky tones. The water-coloured background was dry embossed using the 3D Merry Melody embossing folder. Isn't the embossed music delightful? The larger angel from the Angel's of Peace stamp set was stamped in Versamark Ink onto Shimmery White card-stock and heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss powder and a Heat Gun. A sentiment from the same stamp set and the star from the Great Tidings stamp set was similarly heat embossed. The angel was coloured with Light & Dark Petal Pink, Light Calypso Coral and Light Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends for the dress. Her hair was coloured with So Saffron Blends Combo; her wings & most of the bird with Smoky Slate Blends Combo; and her skin with the Ivory Blend. A Colour Lifter Blend was used to add highlights and soften edges. A touch of Light Melon Mambo Stampin' Blend coloured the dove's belly as a foretelling symbol of 33 years later at the first Easter. The water-coloured background panel was mounted on a piece Petal Pink card-stock together with a thin strip of Gold Metallic Speciality paper. A piece of the oh so gorgeous White Glittered Organdy Ribbon was cut in half (lengthwise) and tied around the front panel ending in a bow. The angel and sentiment were fussy cut, while the star was die cut using the Wise Men Tidings set of dies. These pieces were all added to the card front with Mini Dimensionals. This front panel was adhered directly to a Thick Basic White card-stock base. Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added as the finishing touch. The card inner was formed on Basic White cardstock, stamping the angel and another sentiment from the Angels of Peace stamp set in Calypso Coral ink. The card inner was then mounted on Calypso Coral card-stock leaving a very fine mount. A C6 Basic White envelope was also stamped with the angel in Calypso Coral ink. Thank you for visiting Valley Inspirations with Andrea. I really enjoyed creating this card with the soft & feminine Angels of Peace with the water-colour background from last week. I had a number of ideas of what I would do with the background but they all went out the window when I looked this morning at the Angels of Peace stamp set on my table. If you are in Australia, don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like your own copy of Stampin' Up's 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and or the new July - December Mini Catalogue then let me know and I will be delighted to send one to you. Can you believe it is week 3 already of The Heart of Christmas and we are moving so very quickly I just love it! Well in 2 States here in Australia we are in Lockdown so we are all having fun being in the house and just out and about only for the essentials. I have been playing an immense amount of Minecraft with my kids and I mean IMMENSE! hours upon hours upon hours. Really someone needs to send help and send it fast. I am not even kidding! But while I am digging and trying not to die! I have been thinking about what kind of card I could make when I am allowed to craft. I thought another fancy fold would be the go. Of course you say! Well there are such gorgeous DSP in the new Mini I just wanted to show it off. Plus don't forget there is 15% off select DSP sale going on right now. Ask me for more details. Ok so my card that probably looks like I have been in Minecraft and is like I am building something out of blocks. Really I had to put an Angel on it for some help!!!! So I have created a Tri-fold card and I am giving you a sneak peak at the new Angels of Peace and the Whimsy& Wonder Specialty DSP. I followed a template from Babs on Buttons 'n' Bows blog but adjusted the measurements so that it would fit into our envelopes here in Australia. (Can you see what I mean about Minecraft, everything is in blocks and squares, I am dreaming about Minecraft now. 😂) So for this card I have taken my colouring inspiration from the Whimsy & Wonder Specialty DSP, It has Mossy Meadow, Mint Macaron and Polished Pink to name a few and the ones that are in the DSP that I have chosen to use along with Silver Foil. I thought as the little Angel was holding holly it was the perfect DSP pattern to chose. I have backed it with Mint Macaron card and the card base is Mossy Meadow. For the centre panel I have stamped the everything in Basic Grey and I have also stamped the large Angel in Basic Grey and fussy cut her out so that I could attach her to the front to give dimension. I then got out the Stampin' Blends and first I coloured in the holly actually in Evening Evergreen and the berries in Polished Pink, I then added some Polished to the flowers in the hair and a little bit of Light So Saffron for the hair. Then I thought how about some Light Pale Papaya for the wings. Wings are pretty special so need a substantial colour so I added that and a little of the Dark Pale Papaya. I nearly left it there and left the dresses white but thought the flowing folds of the dress could have just a little of the light Mint Macaron to tie in with the colour of the DSP and that would finish of the Angels perfectly. Now you could also add a Basic Rhinestone or another gem to the star but I have just put some Dark So Saffron in the centre of the star. On the back panel of the card I have stamped some stars and this is where you can write to the person you are sending your card. As I said this card will fold down and go into our C6 envelopes Well there you go a little bit of a crazy card for me this week. I think I need to go for a walk, but they are all waiting for me to get back on the server and play Minecraft! EEK! Hope you have enjoyed this card and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me about this card or the upcoming Mini and how to get your hands on these gorgeous products, plus the 15% off DSP sale going on right now! Welcome to the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop. If you arrived here via the hop, you are currently visiting Susan Edwards from the southeastern United States. I hope you enjoy my Sneak Peak of the *new* Angels of Peace stamp set (available August 3 from my online store). As I stated above, I am using a new stamp set, Angels of Peace, for today's project. Since the theme of this month's IIBH is SPARKLE, I took a slightly different approach to today's card. I started with VersaMark Ink and applied Stampin' Up! Gold Embossing powder to the stamped image. After heat embossing, I used a water painter brush and ink to watercolor my stamped image. When I finished water coloring the image, I added Wink of Stella to the angel's wings and dress, and a touch or two to her hair. I cut the stamped image out with layered dies that until this very moment I did not realized were no longer available! How embarrassing! I usually do a much better job of tracking my out-of-date products. I used designer series paper from two different paper sets, the gold stripe is from Expressions in Ink while the plaid is from Peaceful Prints, a *new* set of paper available with our SECOND SALE-A-BRATION catalog, also available August 3rd. I also used some strips of gold foil specialty paper. I finished the card with new ribbon, gold twine, new sequins, and gold ephemera. Thank you for hopping by today. I hope you enjoyed my Angel of Peace card and that you are inspired to try something new with your stamps and inks! Welcome to Week 20 of the Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. Can you believe we are nearly at the end of our Heart of Christmas Blog hops for 2021, just another couple of weeks to go. This week I am going to show you a quick card that I saw on line from a friend in the US and I thought it was just sweet and simple and you could make multiple of this without much effect. For this card I have used a lot of tone on tone with the Very Vanilla card stock and I have used the lovely large Angel from Angels of Peace. It is such a beautiful stamp. I started with the Thick Very Vanilla card base and then on regular Very Vanilla I embossed using the Merry Melody 3D embossing folder as we all know Angels love to sing! Before adhering the sheet music to the card base I have wrapped around the scalloped lace ribbon and tied a bow. I have then stamped the Angel in Basic Gray onto a piece of Very Vanilla which I have cut to size and then die cut a border on the side with the Basic Border Dies. Doesn't it look like the Angel is singing in the clouds! Adhere that on with some dimensionals and then attach a small sentiment and you can be finished or you could add some genial gems. I decided that I would add a little bling to the card with the genial gems and by adding some colour to the Angel with the stampin' blends. Either way the Angel is still singing and you can make multiple of this card in no time. Now is the time to head to the next person on our Heart of Christmas Journey and this week it will be the lovely Tina Gillespie. I love to see how she interprets a card sketch each week to help us get our Christmas card stash up an so that we will have plenty of cards ready to go for Christmas. Hello and welcome to my blog today. I hope you had a great weekend, I have been spending a lot of time in my crafting studio, which is my happy place. Today I decided to open a new stamp set called Angel of Peace, I must say this a lovely set. This card can be for Christmas or other occasions too. I also made a bookmark with the cute little girl Angel. I know I will be creating with this set this week so don't forget to check out my Instagram and Facebook page https://linktr.ee/Amcards I colored the Angel with Stampin Blends, I used Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Light So Saffron. The embossing folder is the Merry Melody 3D. This book mark was stamped with the background stamp from Artistically Inked set. The back layer is using the Be Dazzling specialty paper that was in the Saleabration brochure , so unfortunately it is not available any more😕 Hopefully Stampin' Up! will bring it back as it was so popular. Heart of Christmas with Angels of Peace Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. Hi there Welcome to Heart of Christmas for 2021. Each week (until mid-December), the talented ladies from the Art with Heart team will bring you inspiration for your holiday craft projects. The lovely Angels of Peace stamp set arrived recently, so I have used it to create my card this week I started by adhering a piece of the mottled blue design from the Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper to a piece of Basic White. Crumb Cake with Angels of Peace & For Unto Us Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart 2021-2022 Colour Creations Blog Hop. This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a neutral light brown called Crumb Cake. It is similar but still a different brown from Kraft card-stock - slightly lighter and Kraft has a little more of an orange tinge. Crumb Cake is part of the Neutrals Colour Family and coordinates so well with many colours (as neutrals tend to do). One of my favourite colour combinations is Petal Pink with Crumb Cake, so in the end I decided to go with this combo. My initial thought was to use White on Crumb Cake which is always delightful, but my designing process took me in another direction. Crumb Cake is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends, the Neutrals Designer Series Paper and some Bakers Twine (as part of the Essentials Pack of twine). The Slim-line Christmas cards below have used Crumb Cake card-stock, Classic ink, Stampin' Blends Combo, and Bakers Twine, plus other bits and pieces. I was planning to make a fancy fold that I had recently seen and started with water-colouring some panels to use as background pieces. However, when layering them as they would look in the fancy fold I wasn't convinced that it worked well so ended up in a completely different direction, creating 2 more simple cards. I was delighted with the water-colour effect achieved with the panel used on this first card. In my water-colour experimentation I have been trying to gain more variation of colour but usually my watercolour backgrounds tend to end up as a subtle blending of colours. This panel also uses the emboss resist technique, with a sentiment from the For Unto Us stamp set stamped in Versamark ink onto Fluid 100 Watercolor paper and heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss powder and a Heat Gun. I used Crumb Cake and Petal Pink Classic Re-inkers with the mid-sized Water Painter and some extra water. When dry, the water-coloured panel was mounted on a larger piece of Petal Pink card-stock. Some Basic White Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack was wrapped around twice and tied in a bow; and then the panel was mounted onto the Crumb Cake card-stock base. The base had been cut to create a small slimline card. The card was then finished with a few delightful Elegant Faceted Gems. I am sooo glad these carried over into the current Annual Catalogue for 2021-2022. This is a fairly simple card for me as I usually have layer upon layer and lots of texture, but I am still pleased with it, especially the water-colour effect. The card inner is simple too, with the angel from the Angels of Peace stamps partially stamped on a piece of Basic White card-stock in Petal Pink ink and the words that continue from the front sentiment, (ie a Christmas carol "Hark the Herald Angels sing, Glory to the new born King") were stamped in Crumb Cake ink. I made a custom sized envelope to suit the small slimline card using some retired Designer Series Paper. Creating your own envelopes with retired DSP is a great way to use your stash of DSP and the envelopes always look great. Card 2: The second card used another water-coloured panel, that was created with the same products as previously mentioned. It too was mounted onto a panel of Petal Pink card-stock and White Crinkled Seam Binding was wrapped around and tied into a bow. Some Crumb Cake Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack was tied around the ribbon bow's knot and then tied into a bow. The whole panel was mounted onto the small slimline card Crumb Cake base. The larger angel from the Angels of Peace stamp set was stamped on a seperate piece of Basic White card-stock in stamped off Crumb Cake ink. The angel was coloured with Stampin' Blends, ie Crumb Cake & Petal Pink combos and Ivory & the Colour Lifter. She was fussy cut. A label was die cut from Basic White card-stock using one of the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The white label was positioned with Dimensionals and the Angel was added with another layer of Dimensionals. I do so love the effect of the added depth provided by Dimensionals and given my restraint in not added them to the background layers, I felt I could go a little wild with the focal elements. A sentiment from the same stamp set was white heat embossed on Crumb Cake card-stock and trimmed to only use the first line of the sentiment. The sentiment was layered on the label with Dimensionals as well. Some beautiful Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added as the finishing touch. They added that little shimmer and the colour seemed to match perfectly. The card inner and envelope was similar to the first card apart from the sentiment. The same sentiment as was used on the front was stamped in Crumb Cake and the piece of the sentiment that wasn't used on the front of the card was layered over the stamped words. I had fun playing with water-colour and creating these cards to share. I will need to make the fancy fold with something different so I can try it out. If it works, it may even turn up in a week or two featuring another of Stampin' Up!'s beautiful colours. If you are in Australia, don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like your own copy of Stampin' Up's 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and or the new July - December 2021 Mini Catalogue, then let me know and I will be delighted to send them to you. Hi, Here is a sneak peak from the upcoming mini catalogue and the my first Christmas card this year. The angel from the Angels Of Peace stamp set (#156365) was stamped with VersaMark (#102283). This was then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder from the Metallics pack (#155555) and set with the Heat Tool (#129056). I cut this Basic White card (#159228) with a die from the Ornate Layers Dies (#152726). The Balmy Blue card (#147007) was embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder (#152718), then attached to the Basic White base card. Season’s Greetings is from the Merriest Moments stamp set (#156353) and also Gold embossed. This was cut with an Ornate Frames Die (#150664), daubered the edges with Balmy Blue ink (#14710) and attached it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430). I coloured the bird with the Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends (#154830). There is a great variety of new products in the new catalogue which will be available to order from 3rd August. My house is in total chaos as I carry boxes of Christmas decorations into the (I hope) appropriate rooms! It used to take me about 3 days to get it all up, organized, and boxes stowed away, but as …
Can you believe it is week 3 already of The Heart of Christmas and we are moving so very quickly I just love it! This paper has the look of a blue sky, so I thought it would be an appropriate background for my angel. I ran the...
