Sunshine and Rainbows – seems appropriate again when it is below zero in Iowa again! Ugh getting over winter quickly here and then we get 6 more weeks thanks Mr. Groundhog today. So, I thought I would share these super fun, quick and simple cards that are sure to brighten your day! These cards are […]
I am so tired of gray days and sickness, I can't even tell you! So this week I used my layout of the month to get myself out of this dreary space and into a brighter place. I'm even rhyming without noticing. For dimensions and instructions for this month's layout, click HERE. Today's samples were both made using the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle (#157727, $44.00) & the Cloud Punch (#157749, $18.00.) When you purchase these two items during Sale-a-Bration, you also can earn the Sunshine & Rainbows 6x6 DSP pack (#158126) for free. This pack of paper is sure to break through your cloudy days. These cards were made utilizing the scraps of each other so let's do this one step by step. First, cut the rainbows into strips from the DSP and cut them individually so you have rectangles with rainbows. Next, put your rainbow die on the DSP and run it through your Cut & Emboss Machine. This will punch out four arcs while leaving just a little hint leftover. Set this piece aside! Layer the four arcs on a 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of Whisper White by using glue dots on the back. Punch out the clouds from another piece of SAB DSP. If you have some that are near the edges, just layer them together with adhesive and dimensionals like I did here. Now layer your 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock on your card. Layer the three 3/4 x 3 3/4 strips on top of it. Then add your rainbow piece using dimensionals. Add the two clouds, using adhesive on one and dimensionals on the other. Stamp the sentiment on a 1/2 x 3ish strip and add with adhesive. For the next card, cut your card base to 11 x 4 1/4 and score at 5 1/2. Add your Mango Melody 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 piece of cardstock to the paper with adhesive. Add three strips of the DSP using adhesive. Stamp your sentiment on the bottom of the 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of Basic White and add to the card with dimensionals. Add a rectangle rainbow from the DSP to the card with adhesive. Now, put dimensionals in the three areas on the scrap from card #1. Layer this on the card over the DSP. Isn't it fun? Hello and welcome to Amethystarcrafting. My name is Jane Allmark and I'm a UK Independent Stampin Up Demonstrator. Sunshine & Rainbows Bundle. is the perfect set for anyone who loves rainbows. Rainbows have always been very special to me as my late mother collected rainbow bits. She had some lovely cling window stickers and sun catchers with rainbows on so when I saw this set I just had to have it to carry on the tradition. The framelits are a must as they allow you to cut out the beams of the rainbow easily, would hate to fussy cut this shape lol. There are several different types of cloud too, which allows you to make different skies. The sentiment I used is perfect You can't have a rainbow without a little rain and there are raindrops in a stamp to add the rain. I tucked the ends of the rainbow in between the clouds to make a more realistic look and popped the clouds up on dimensionals with the lightening bolts and sunshine. Simply mounted on a whisper white base, the images really pop. I normally mount the card first before putting onto my card base, but I felt this way worked well with the white clouds. Sale-A-Bration. is on now so if you purchase this bundle and an ink pad or cardstock or pack of dimensionals you can get a FREE product.

I used this pretty paper on its own and also with other Sale-A-Bration choices. On their own the images in this 6X6 paper pack make a bold, fun statement that looks joyful to me! There are plenty of small prints to combine like this polka dot and thin stripe with the Catching Butterflies set. The Awesome Otters also look cute with this pretty and bright paper. I was able to combine both cars from Driving By and the Sentiment from Awesome otters to hopefully make the balloons and presents tie together nicely. Happy Sunday and Happy April, crafty friends! Time for a new creative challenge over at The Paper Players! This week, it’s my pleasure to be hosting our Theme Challenge. My theme is “Sunshine & Rainbows which I think is so fitting for the season. Here are a couple of ideas for this theme to get your creative mojo working: Sunshine & Rainbows - Use a sun, rainbow or "rainy day" theme (umbrellas, rain boots, etc) on your card I sure hope you will take this challenge for a spin and join us over at The Paper Players. We’d love to see what YOU create! *I’ve shared list of measurements along with a supply list of products used to create this card at the end of this post. When I came up with the theme for the challenge, I already knew that I would be using the Bright Skies stamp set and coordinating dies from the Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. Sunshine and clouds? Check. Now on to that rainbow. I thought it would be fun to do a little “scrappy strip” rainbow on my card front because you can never have too many bright and happy colors on one card. I searched and searched for some patterned paper that I liked and I finally settled on the Sunny Days Designer Series Paper. This paper was avaialable to earn for FREE during Sale-a-Bration in January and February of this year. I happened to earn a LOT of it, so instead of letting it take up space in my craft room unused, I really wanted to use it for this card. You could even stamp some clouds from the set in the background to create a similar look if you didn’t have the paper. Or add some embossing for texture. I also added a little smily face to the sunshine using the Taco Fiesta stamp set, which was designed by my dear friend Erica Cerwin. Adding a little smiley face is a little detail that really adds so much, don’t you think? This is such a happy card, sure to bring a smile to the recipient’s face. To finish things off I added some Iridescent Foil Gems because you always have to have a little “pop” (wink, wink) of gold at the end of a rainbow. Card Measurements: Daffodil Delight Card Base: 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4” Shaded Spruce Cardstock: 5-1/4” x 4” Sunny Days Designer Series Paper (Sale-A-Bration, no longer available): 5-1/8” x 3-7/8” Bubble Bath, Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Shaded Spruce, Pool Party, Azure Afternoon & Gorgeous Grape Cardstock: 1/4” x 4-1/4” each Basic White Cardstock: scrap for stamping/die-cutting sun and (3) cloud die-cuts Shaded Spruce Cardstock: 5-1/8” x 3/4”, stamp & heat emboss sentiment, then banner punch each end with Banner’s Pick a Punch Basic White Cardstock (card interior): 5-1/4” x 4” Sunny Days DSP (card interior): 5-1/4” x 3/4” Finally a peek inside the card! I added another strip of that Sunny Days DSP, this time in the rainbow pattern. I also stamped another smiling sunshine to “keep the party going from the front of the card”. I made a bunch of these to have on hand to cheer up a friend when they need a little “happy mail” to brighten their day! I hope you will join us this week over at The Paper Players and share your project for this fun ”Sunshine & Rainbows” Theme Challenge. We’d love to see what you come up with! I used the Stampin’ Up! Sunshine & Rainbows stamp set bundle to create a fun card to share with you today.
Well, hello peaches! Welcome to the Sunshine & Rainbows Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop! Each month our very talented and creative team of designers will be bringing you inspiration, so get comfortable and have a ton of fun hopping along with us. You may have just arrived from Kim McGillis' Blog. she always has such gorgeous projects. I just can't wait to see what she has created! Today, I will be showcasing the Sunshine & Rainbows Stamp Set and Rainbow Builder Framelits Dies. There are so many beautiful ways to use these products and when you pair them together the possibilities are endless! Now, let's get to my projects! What you will love most about this set of stamps and dies is that you can use them separately or together. You could stamp then die cut the stamps out, just stamp for a more one-layered project, or you could use just the dies themselves to cut out colored cardstock for another look. I had so much fun creating with these; I just could't stop creating! To me, that's a sign of a great versatile product. For my first card I wanted to show you how beautifully these products enhance each other. I used the dies to cut out each band of the rainbow, one band in each color of Real Red Cardstock, Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Daffodil Delight Cardstock, Old Olive Cardstock, Tempting Turquoise Cardstock, Pacific Point Cardstock, and Elegant Eggplant Cardstock. For the background I stamped the cloud stamp in Versamark Ink and sprinkled on some White Embossing Powder and heat set it. For a little more texture, I die cut out a few clouds from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. I also put a Vellum Carstock cloud in my background as well. I wanted soft blue tinted raindrops but knew they wouldn't show up on the gray background, so I first stamped in White Craft Ink and then stamped over it again with my Tempting Turquoise Ink. Because the craft ink is pigmented, it allowed me to add color on top of it. I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish off my card. On this next card, I wanted to focus on the stamps. I did use some cloud dies as well, but what I was able to do with the stamps on this card is pretty fun. I used one of the rainbow bands to create a straight band so when I stamped it, it would look like a downpour of water from my clouds. Because these are photopolymer stamps, I am able to bend and manipulate them into different shapes. I took the largest rainbow band stamp and stretched it until it was straight. I found that using my clear block allowed me to do this more easily as it would stick in place as i adjusted it. Since the block is clear, you could even place it over a straight line to ensure your stamp is lined up straight. I stamped six rows of the straight rainbow bands towards the bottom of my panel in Versamark Ink and added Silver Embossing Powder on it. It's truly magic to watch this powder melt and the end results are gorgeous too. I layered on my clouds just above the embossed bands and tucked in a little sun stamped in Daffodil Delight Ink. For texture and to finish off my card, I added some Silver Ribbon and some silver sequins from the Metallic Sequin Assortment. My final card is a shaker card. I think when I was coming up with the concept and sketch for this card, it look completely different than the end result, but I really like how it turned out. I had pictured the rainbow sitting flat on the bottom layer with bits of sequins dancing over it as you shook it. This is how it ended up coming together. I die cut my rainbow bands in the same colors of cardstock as the first card, but this time I adhered them down one directly next to the other. Then I cut it out so that I had a shape to trace and cut to create my window for my shaker since there is no "whole, solid" rainbow die, just individual bands. I used some of the iridescent sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment into my shaker and sealed it up. I added my embossed sentiment and finished off my card with the adorable Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes. I hope you have enjoyed all of today's cards and designs. Keep hopping along and check out my other fellow teammates’ pages. They have some pretty amazing projects to share.
