An Elite Boar Samurai Warrior Costume worn in Carl Rinschs 2013 adaptation of the classic Japanese legend, 47 Ronin. In the film, a band of 47 warriors set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master, Lord Asano. Costumes of this style can be seen worn by a large group of Samurai warriors who arrive with Lord Kira (Tadanobu Asano) in preparation for a duel in honor of Shogun Tokugawa Tsunayoshi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa). pThis costume consists of an ornate kabuto helmet, memp face mask, furry d body armor, kote arm guards, haidate thigh armor, large kimono, hakama pants, and tabi boots. The kabuto helmet is styled after a boar and features intricately cut leather around a resin helmet and includes rubber tusks and a leather shikoro neck guard. The memp is made from flexible rubber and includes an elastic strap to wrap behind the head. The d body armor is made from leather with authentic fur believed to be from a boar, and includes cords allowing for adjustable sizing. pThis costume features minor wear due to production use (see photos), however it remains in overall good worn condition.
