Sue Campion shows new work at THE RUSSELL GALLERY 12 Lower Richmond Road Putney London SW15 1JP Telephone: 0208 780 5228 Email: [email protected] 7th – 22nd November 2014 Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5:30pm I was really excited to hear that the leading pastel landscape painter Sue Campion was having a solo show at The Russell Gallery in Putney, opening this Thursday 6th November. I have long been an admirer of her work having originally seen it at the Pastel Society exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London. Her work reminds me of the recent Yorkshire landscape paintings by David Hockney as well as French Post Impressionist landscape painting in equal measure. Like Hockney, you sense a real love and engagement with the subject, a real honesty to the marks that she makes. And like the landscapes of painters such as Bonnard, Derain and Van Gogh, there is a real sensitivity to colour – using colour to express real emotion; a careful selection of harmonious palettes that not only evoke a sense of place but also convey half lost memories, dreams, and wistful emotion. 10 Embroidered quilt block bundle - Sunbonnet Sue Cooks Do you love embroidery, but aren't sure you want to commit to purchasing an expensive sewing machine and all the supplies needed? Well, I have done all the hard work for you! QuiltingDiva embroidered blocks are versatile. They can be used for quilting, tote bags, wall hangings, mug rugs, pillows, or simply frame the cute design for some unique home decor. My designs are customizable, and can be stitched on any fabric. Each block measures 9" square These are available in a creamy off white (almost tan), or a Bella white (not bright white) The designs measure around 6" - 7" *thread colors may vary* These blocks are adorable Sunbonnet Sue in hand embroidery style. They are triple stitched and look like hand work - but, don't be fooled!, they are machine embroidery :) The 10 designs include: Sue flipping a pancake // Sue with her teapot and steaming tea // Sue cooking a pie // Sue cooking pasta // Sue stirring batter // Sue eating a banana split // Sue sitting with her cat and drinking coffee // Sue decorating a cake // Sue baking bread // Sue making a strawberry smoothie The stray threads have been removed from the front and trimmed on the back.
