Hello everyone, I hope your week is going well. I am sure many of us here in Canada are getting ready for our Thanksgiving weekend. I am happy to still have some David Austen roses blooming in the garden ...this one is the Mary Rose. I took a little break from my chores to prepare an afternoon tea with cranberry scones. Tea on the chaise so you can enjoy the garden. Homemade scones and jam. Well, a tea break is lovely but now I better get back to work........ funny how fast a day slips by! Hope you enjoyed your tea break too! Carolyn `

See how to make rose milk! Dreamy and delicious, rose milk is blended with milk, agave syrup, and rose essence and makes for an elegant and refreshing summer drink. This easy rose milk recipe is made with natural ingredients and free of artificial flavors and colorants.
This year the Rosa species has been chosen as herb of the year. Beautiful bouquets and flower covered trellises come to mind when I think of roses, but I don’t usually think of the rose as an herb. But then I remember all the recipes that I’ve seen using rose water, or the many times I see rose hip tea mentioned, or pretty tea time treats with candied rose petals. So the rose is so much more than a favorite ornamental plant. I’ve read that rose hip tea is a digestive aid (medicinal) and since rose hips are high in vitamin C, they may provide relief for the common cold. Rose water (made from the petals) is an astringent and helpful to treat acne. It is also used in cosmetics. Candied rose petals (culinary) are used as a pretty garnish for baked goods. Since I don’t grow roses myself (just one bush), I’ll have to see if I can find a source for organic roses. I’d like to try some of the many recipes I’ve seen using roses. This one for Drop Scones with Rose Petals and Pistachios sounds good. Do you have a favorite rose tea or baked good?
Rose tea benefits are gaining popularity slowly. This tea helps improve digestion and aids in weight loss. Know more about it, how to make it, and its benefits.
Hello everyone, It is a beautiful day here with a definite touch of fall in the air. I have lots of photos to share with you but I got a new computer and my photos have not been transferred yet so I hope you will enjoy another cup of tea with me with some of our garden roses. I love this teacup from Winners-it seems to speak of autumn to me.It is a Rose Cameo Peach by Royal Albert. The roses are a David Austen English rose - Golden Celebration. Have an oatmeal scone with some of my peach preserves. This is one of my favorite things-as good as a dessert and healthier. The tea set is Wild Rose by Skye Mc Ghie Hopefully, I get my computer all up and running soon and can share more with you soon. In the meantime I am looking forward to our annual 70 mile yard sale this Saturday - hoping for a nice day and some pretty treasures to take home. Thank you for your visit and welcome to my new followers. Carolyn

Hello everyone, I hope your week is going well. It is damp windy and chilly here so I am indoors today enjoying a cup of tea by the fire. Thankfully, the weather is looking much better for the rest of the week. A pretty bouquet always makes me happy. As does pretty china. I found this chintz English teapot recently and had to add it to my collection of teapots. It is pretty don't you think? It is called Royal Cotswolds in the English Tradition by J Godinger. I am looking forward to getting back into the garden with some sunshine and warmer temperatures though. Hopefully, I can have my tea in the garden soon. Thank you for visiting, Carolyn
