"The Holy Mass" Thomas Noyes-Lewis This reverent painting of the Mass illustrates the invisible aspects of the Mass, where the Host is surrounded by angels and saints. One thing to understand about the Mass, we are joining in with the Heavenly worship of the Lord. The Mass is the re-presentation of Christ on the Cross, that exact moment in history perpetuated throughout the ages (Catechism 1323). When the priest makes the sacrifice, angels of the Heavenly Host are present. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch."
