Much loved in Kent, it remains largely unknown elsewhere, but there’s no reason this refreshingly simple tart shouldn’t score with pastry lovers all over
My take on the famous Betty's Fat Rascals; Fat Rascals are a cross between a bun and a scone, more like a rock cake, and are delicious when enjoyed with an afternoon cuppa. The origin of the name is unknown, but they are thought to have been made since the mid-19th Century under the name of Fat Rascals, although the original recipe is thought to be Elizabethan.
Oatcakes are a traditional cracker made out of oats that can be found all across Scotland. Their versatility means you’re as likely to be served them with soup as cheese or pate when you’re eating out, and there is a multitude of different varieties across supermarket shelves. Perfect as an addition to a meal or an in-between snack. They’re a bit like the bread of Scotland, and have been made here for hundreds of years!

Combine with strawberries and cream and you have yourself an unbeatable afternoon tea treat. Or, how about this summery shortbread recipe for afternoon tea: lemon and strawberry viennese whirls?

Caledonian Cream is yet another delicious Scottish dessert combining classic Scottish ingredients like whisky liqueur and bitter marmalade with cream, lemon or orange juice and a bit of sugar for sweetness! It can be served immediately or left to chill in the fridge to bring out the flavours further.

I've been wanting to make a Malteser cake for ages. I'm not entirely sure why it has been on my mind - but I'm glad it was as this cake is a little bit awesome.
Recipe video above. This is seriously so similar to Heinz, it's scary! Except - no artifical flavouring, and the sauce isn't slimy which I really hate about canned baked beans. Make with DRIED or CANNED beans. Navy beans / haricot, if you can find them (that's what Heinz uses) otherwises any beans (preferably white).

Recipe video above. The great British classic! Sausages nestled in a giant Yorkshire pudding, in all its puffed up glory, with delightfully crispy edges. The trick for stability is a dab of mayonnaise! Taught to me by an English chef, learned from his days working in pubs and restaurants in the UK. (See note 4)Some recipes will have you just bake the sausages from raw, but your gravy will be much tastier if you start with sausage drippings. So sear your sausages first!
