I am often asked what is the difference between the DecoArt crackle mediums so I thought I would take the four that I use most and give you an explanation of each one. Each of my coffee cups on this media board have been crackled with one of the four and the board itself and the saucer are a double up (see below). So four products and five outcomes. This was a brilliant opportunity to have fun with crackle so thank you Evelyn for the fabulous theme, which is the new challenge over at Country View Crafts Challenge Blog. Crackle Paint Fast-drying Crackle Paint crackles as it dries naturally to create an eggshell pattern in just one step. Apply with a soft brush over a sealed surface and as the paint dries, it will begin to crack, showing the base colour underneath. The size of the cracks are governed by the thickness of the application - ie the thinner the paint is applied the smaller the cracks and the thicker the application the larger the cracks. White Crackle Paint is tintable and can be coloured with up to 20% of the media fluid acrylics or can also be painted. It is also available in black. 1. Base colour - Raw Umber. White Crackle Paint Crackle Glaze Clear Crackle Glaze is a fast-drying, acid-free topcoat that will crackle as it dries to create an eggshell pattern in one step. It should be applied over painted, sealed surfaces, its clear finish allows details and colours to show through and it is self-levelling. Apply with a soft brush and again the the size of the cracks is governed by the thickness of the application. Once dry, the cracks can be antiqued with Media Antiquing Creams, apply your chosen colour, let it dry and then wipe back with a soft damp cloth. You can also stamp over it. 2. Base colour - Medium Grey Value 6. Clear Crackle Glaze Antiquing Cream - white Crackle Paste Dimensional Crackle Paste is a white paste that creates an eggshell cracking pattern as it air dries. It can be used alone or as a stencil paste. It can also be used with a palette knife to build texture, and will give bigger cracks with thicker application and shows the base colour underneath. Media Crackle Paste can be tinted with up to 20% Media Fluid Acrylics or painted with them. 3. Base colour - Paynes Grey. White Crackle Paste through a cracked stencil Weathered Wood crackle medium Weathered Wood is from the DecoArt Americana range Apply this medium after base coating with the colour you want to appear through the cracks. Top with the final coat of paint and it will crackle almost immediately as it dries to create an eggshell pattern, giving a vintage, distressed finish. DecoArt advise that you let this product dry naturally but I have had good results by drying it with my heat gun and heat drying the top coat of paint too. You can also change the way the cracks appear by painting the top coat in different directions. Take a look at Andy Skinner's video here. 4. Base colour - Dark Grey Value 3. Weathered Wood Crackle Medium Top Coat - Titanium White Mega Crackle Mega Crackle is achieved by combining two DecoArt mediums, weathered wood and white crackle paint. Really large cracks can be achieved with this technique as can be seen on this media canvas board and yes it works on canvas too. See how it is achieved by watching Andy's video here. I used the same technique on the saucer too. Here they are all together. I distressed the cups ..... .... found a quote I like and typed it out on media paint distressed card (this saying could definitely be me lol) ...... .... and stamped and stencilled and sealed the background with ultra matte varnish ..... ...... and finally completed the project. I hope you will be able to stop by the Country View Crafts challenge blog to take a look at the fabulous projects from the rest of the team and maybe enter one yourself. For now have a fabulous week with whatever you have planned. hugs Brenda xxx Products for this project DecoArt White Crackle Paint DecoArt Media Enhancer - Clear Crackle Glaze DecoArt white crackle paste DecoArt Weathered Wood crackle medium Sizzix Bigz Die - Tea Time by Tim Holtz DecoArt Mixed Media Fluid Acrylic - Raw Umber DecoArt Mixed Media Fluid Acrylic 1oz - Medium Grey Value 6 DecoArt Antiquing Cream - Titanium white DecoArt Mixed Media Fluid Acrylic - Paynes Grey Tim Holtz Layering Stencil - Shatter DecoArt Mixed Media Fluid Acrylic 1oz - Titanium White - See more at: http://www.countryviewcrafts.c Tim Holtz distress ink pad - Ground Espresso DecoArt Media Enhancer - Ultra Matte Varnish Tim Holtz Cling Mounted Stamp Set - Zigzag & Diamonds Stamp InLinkz.com
I've been in a world of my own over the last couple of days, being totally preoccupied with painting up a big canvas. I'm in danger of being addicted to mixed media on canvas now. I will be posting it on the blog in the next couple of days probably. However, this afternoon I got an attack of the Dylusion inks, they were sat there laughing at me so I had to play with them just to shut them up. Here is the series of 4 ATC's I've made for a swap with someone I met on the C&C cruise. If anyone wants to trade ATC's too, then just drop me a line, I'd love to swap. Michelle x I used Dyan Reaveley's Dylusion inks, TH distress inks & Adirondack dabbers (black & blue). Stamps: Tim Holtz, Hamptopn Art (numbers & bottles), Crafty Notions (heart), Clarity Stamps (spiky circle). Stencil : Dylusions Dotted Flowers. I think I love the Crafty Notion's heart stamp, it's becoming a regular of mine.

I am excited to share the Traveller Folio I created and taught for Country View Crafts at the end of January. It was a fabulous hard working day with a huge amount to cover but everyone got close to finishing so that they could go home to add photos etc to personalise it totally to their own taste. There are more photos on the Country View Crafts Project Blog including photos from the day itself. I just need to add my own photos now don't I? I am in Birmingham for the Stitches Trade Show, catching up with AVJ and CVC teamies as well as other friends I have made during this amazing artful and blogging journey. Enjoy your week. hugs Brenda xxx

The challenge this week over at the Simon Says Stamp & Show blog is to use a favorite quote or saying in your art. There are already SO...
So, how's it going? Have you art journaled every day this week? (If you're new, check out this link for lots of info on what Art Journal Every Day is!) And to answer my own question: I am going to confess that while I did take my art journal and some supplies with me to L.A. I didn't actually manage to do anything in my art journal the entire time I was away. And you know, that's okay. But looking at the little pencil case of supplies I brought with me got me thinking. What are other people's must-have supplies?...
Hi everyone and thanks for dropping in here. Today is the day for another challenge over at A Vintage Journey. The lovely Terry has chosen the theme of Fond Memories. Well, I decided to create a canvas board, dedicated to the fond memories I have of my beautiful mum. With Mother's day in the US only just over a week away, it seemed a good topic. This piece was inspired by Tim's scrapbooking and collage style, which I absolutely adore. The products I used for this projects are part Tim Holtz own and part different, our challenge blog is really about Tim's style and not his products. So here is a quick step by step. I started with a small 5 x 7" canvas board and covered it with strips of tissue wrap: Next I blended Picket Fence Distress paint over it using my finger, to merge the strips more into the background, but keeping the texture. A second layer of paint, this time using Antique Linen was added and then I spritzt it with water to blend the two colours together. On the photo you can see only very little difference. I added more colour by rubbing a Vintage Photo Distress Inkpad straight over it, without using a blending tool. I then spritz with water to blend the colours, but when it had dried I decided it needed some more textures so I spread some Wendy Vecchie Embossing Paste through the Tim Holtz Vintage Doily stencil in two corners. More colour was definitely needed, so this time, using a blending tool I added Potting Soil Archival over the added texture and around the edges. Time for some background stamping, using an Artistic Outpost and a SinCity Stamps stamp: Blending the stamping in a bit with some Walnut Stain and Antique Linen Distress paints, I then added a second layer of stamping, this time using Maroon Red Archival and an Indigo Blue stamp. Time to make and gather some collage elements and embellishments, here you can see a first collection (as it turned out I did not use them all and added some others): Some of them were stamped and inked, (the numbers on the right, from the Artistic Stamper), some were die cuts, the bottle cap and ruler( gifts from the lovely Annie and Zuzu), some ideaology and ephemera pieces, all inked and distressed. Here you can see how I started to play around with them, before committing to their final position. I usually don't think too much about where things are placed, but follow my intuition, making sure there is a kind of balance between horizontal and vertical elements and that some are placed behind and over the central image, in this case the photo of my mum of course. Alright, I'll show you some close ups of what I landed up with: A word band, attached with a bit of hemp twine that goes right around the board. I rubbed Antique Linen right over it, left it for a minute and then gently rubbed over it with a bit of kitchen roll, leaving the paint just in the recessed letters. I also added one of the gorgeous heart charms. The bottle cap, it was cut from Kraftcard, inked with a mix of Vintage Photo and Black Soot. I then punched a circle from a tiny scrap of the French Industrial papers, and added a Type Charm in the middle. The E is the first letter of my mum's first and surname, so fitted just right. A clock from one of the Ephemera packs, inked and stamped a bit and then tugged behind the photo. The word memory was printed on one of the scraps of tissue wrap I started off with, so I put it aside as of course it fitted the project perfectly. A piece of Tissue Tape with the number 35, she must have been about that age when the photo was taken. The special Delivery, from one of the ephemera packs was added mostly just for a little touch of colour. And finally two chipboard letters, suitably distressed by sanding and then inking around the edges. And that was it, you'll be glad to hear. Make sure to go over to the A Vintage Journey blog, to see the amazing projects my teamies have created, I promise you will not be disappointed!! And of course we all hope you will play along in the challenge, but PLEASE read the challenge rules, for if you don't follow them you will not be eligible for either our prize or one of our top three! Have an inky creative day and most of the products used can be found in the Countryview Crafts shop, who are also the sponsors of our prize.
Tips and ideas for how to make a vintage style, white art journal page. All kinds of fun techniques from vintage background papers, to embossing and layering!
Hello everyone! First some happy news. Baby Leo couldn't wait any longer and surprised everyone by suddenly arriving 5 weeks before his due date. Time to start exploring the world! He is doing well and so am I. I am very happy and also relieved that all went well. Big brother is very proud. I'll post a photo when we are back home again. This week at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog we have a 'touch of clover' challenge. My post is lacking a supply list since I didn't get a chance to complete it before Leo decided it was time. I'll add it as soon as I can [update: I have added it now]. I decided to make a very green art journal page, with a luck theme. I had fun building up layers in the background of this page, which will go into my Dylusions journal. It started out as a blank watercolour paper. A little bit of Sap Green reinker was mixed into Ranger's new Gloss Texture Paste and the coloured paste was smeared through a star and a mesh stencil. Leave to dry, and the stars will resist the following ink layers. You can see the the stars are a lighter green. Next, I smeared green Distress Inks on my craft sheet, misted with water and pressed the paper into the ink. When dry, the page was misted with various green Distress Sprays Stains, both just here and there and through the Schoolhouse stencil. I stamped the background with various stamps and splattered black paint on it. The birds were die cut from a piece of watercolour paper, also colored with Distress Inks. I love this elephant stamp and had the idea of letting three elephants balance on top of each other. The ball was cut off from the two top elephants. The elephants were stamped with Jet Black Archival Ink and watercoloured with Distress Ink. The page is all about finding balance and remembering that it is all perspective, and how lucky you are. I die cut labels and stamped the sentiment with different alphabet stamps, also adding some rub-ons. The second label with a stamped sentiment. I also added some tissue tape, and really wanted to include the part with the bike. The green wire thread is by Prima. And some stamped clocks. The cheese cloth was dyed by misting it with Distress Spray Stain. I hope you will join us this week in our green challenge! As every week, one random participant wins a $50 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp. Thank you so much for stopping by today! Happy crafting!! Thanks so much for stopping by today! I was so excited to be invited to create samples for Creativation 2020 Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous and Ranger. I encourage you to go to Tim's website and watch his Stampers Anonymous 2020 Facebook Live replay (HERE). All the amazing makers and their wonderful creativity is just incredible, you don't want to miss it! Today I'm sharing a couple of cards I created using new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous "The Professor 2" and "Tiny Text" stamp sets. This first card was for the Stampers Anonymous booth. To start with, I colorized a couple sheets of Distress Mixed Media Heavystock. I misted the cardstock with water, spritzed with Pumice Stone and Frayed Burlap Distress Spray Stain. Then dried with a heat tool. I stamped the new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Professor 2 image using Black Soot Distress Archival ink, positioning him just to the right of the panel. I wanted his face to be a little lighter than the background, so I did a little ink lifting. I just swiped some water onto his face using a Detailed Distress Waterbrush and blotted the moisture with a clean dry paper towel. Then dried with a heat tool. I started layering images with some simple masking techniques. I stamped the professor and the number wheel on plain printer paper, cut out and used as a mask. I used a handful of Distress Archival Ink colors to stamp my images. I heat embossed one of the phrases from the new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Tiny Text stamp set "faraway places + daring adventures", using a scrap of the colorized heavystock. I embossed with the new Distress Embossing Glaze in Hickory Smoke. This is a wonderful neutral color you can use on just about anything. It has many unique properties to it. I'll be sharing several more cards in the coming weeks using the new Distress Embossing Glaze, made for Creativation 2020. I distressed a panel of blackout cardstock using a sanding grip, to expose some of the underlying kraft. Just make sure your craft area is protected with a scrap piece of paper before sanding. I cut a piece of kraft cardstock to make an A6 4.5" x 6.25" card base. Then cut a panel of cardstock from the dapper paper stash collection for layering. I trimmed the embossed phrasing to fit top panel. All paper pieces were shaded using some Distress Walnut Stain Ink and a blending tool. I also added just a touch of color to the professors cheeks using a smidge of Tattered Rose Distress Ink. You want a very dry application or it will look too heavy/blotchy. Before I started assembling my card, I did a little sewing around the border of my top panel...adding the embossed phrase as I was sewing. I applied a touch of Distress Candied Apple Paint to the game spinners and hardware head. Then dried with a heat tool and glued in place using Distress Collage Medium Matte. I wanted the professors goggles to have a little shine to them, so I applied glossy accents. I know what you're thinking, that glossy accents coloring is a little off... not to worry though, it dries crystal clear with a high gloss shine. He's ready for an adventure... This second card was made for the Ranger Creativation 2020 booth. The stamped image positioning is very similar to the first card. I used the same color palette. The phrase"Go+See+Explore" is from the new Tiny Text stamp set as well. The main difference is the "Baggage Check 755" image from the Professor 2 stamp set. You might notice that the color really pops, that's because I used the new Distress Embossing Glaze in Fired Brick. It has a wonderful translucent quality to it. You can see the faint stamped imagery behind the embossing glaze. Most embossing powder's are opaque...not all of them, but a lot of them. I also love that the new Distress Embossing Glazes are in the Distress Color Palette. I distressed the compass coin, hex fastener and game spinner with a little Iced Spruce Distress Paint and Mushroom Alcohol Ink. I assembled everything much like the first card. A great big thank you to Tim, Paula and Mario! I'll be sharing more Creativation 2020 makes soon! Thanks so much for the visit. I really appreciate it, have a wonderful day! xx Bobbi I've listed the products below, used to create these projects. I'm part of various affiliate programs including Simon Says Stamp. Hello and Welcome! I’m back again today with a new tutorial created for the Tim Holtz Sizzix Creativation Booth. As some of you know, the theme that Sizzix had for the show this year had to d…
I am really excited to be a guest at The Frilly and Funkie’s Challenge blog where the theme is ‘Summer Heat’. Sue is the hostess and her brief is - “July brings with it the heat of the Summer, so for this challenge we want to see those warm colours in your project. Think red, orange, sunshine yellow and as an added twist you need to include a summer bloom somewhere on your project. Have fun!” WARNING – LONG POST with lots of photos but you do get a tutorial as well. I really went to town with the hot colours in the Dylusions inks range to create my background and I used a linen textured canvas board so I can display this through the warmer summer months. I started with a layer of gold embossing paste by Wendy Vecchi. I love this not only for the texture it adds but the gold seemed to shine through the layers of ink and gives a gorgeous warm glow to the finished piece. I added some white gesso over the top of the embossing paste, but I think if I did this again I would leave this layer out. Then I got started with the sprays, putting most of the colours on wet for the first layer and letting them run together a bit – you can just see that I spray into a pizza box which helps protect the small area I have to work in. At this point I really wasn’t sure which way up my board was going to be – blue for the sky or green for the grass? But I added more layers of inks by spraying and heat drying in various areas and spraying short bursts of colour over another colour to get mottled effects. To finish I stamped some texture stamps in both distress paint and fresco finish paint. The shabby bloom was inspired by Paula Cheney and you can see her version HERE. I used Dylusions sprays rather than distress stains and you can see how I made my version below. Paula Cheney inspired flower I sprayed really hot colours onto a piece of card and pressed another piece into it, giving me two pieces to use for die-cutting. I used both the tattered florals bigz die as well as the jumbo tattered florals die and chose the size petals I wanted. Using four of each of these three sizes I inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink. I then made a hole in each petal and put the two largest sizes together with a brad and curled each individual petal over with using my awl. Taking the water mister I began spraying each layer and curling the petals upwards and scrunching them as I went along. I then gave it one more spray of water to make sure it was wet through and really squeezed it in my hand until it eventually looked like the photo above. Using a heat gun I carefully dried and unfurled the outer petals to get the sort of flower shape I wanted. Next I took the smallest petals and did the same to them and then glued this little bunch into the centre of the larger flower. Finally I inked some of the edges again with walnut stain again to give the flower a more aged and vintage look. It now measures 12 cms across. The leaves were made in a very similar way using the Dylusions inks….. …. and the Garden Greens bigz die. When I soaked them with water the ink mixed with it and coloured the reverse side of the leaves. I scrunched them, dried them and inked them as before and added to the board with the flower. It would be lovely to see you over at Frilly and Funkie if you have time, but thanks for stopping by and thanks for getting to the end of a long post. Apologies to Fliss and Shilpa who left me a message when I inadvertently published this post last week. A slip of the finger, but it has it's consequences duh!!!!!!! Thank you to Linda and the team for asking me to guest today, I have so enjoyed making this journal board and it’s certainly a project I will do again. Enjoy the rest of the week and have some fun creative time. hugs Brenda
Hello friends!! Hope you are all well! Here is another Idea-ology project I created for Tim Holtz for CHA I used lots of the new vintage ephemera (you get loads of tickets, pictures, vintage advertisements....the list goes on!) To create this project I took a burlap panel and flipped it around to use the reverse to create a shadow box to hold all the layers I used one of the photographs from the "found relatives" pack (Love these!) Check out the wooden print block......these are perfect for adding to configurations, shadow boxes, even stuck together on a shelf I also added an Ideaology glass dome, labels,a vintage key along with some buttons...... (As Im from the UK I had to sneak in the union Jack flag!) Hope you like it....it was so much fun to create As always feel free to comment, great to know you popped by! Hope to share some more later on in the week! Have a great week Kaz x To find all the new releases check out: Art from the heart Inspiration emporium

Happy 4th of July to all of my American friends! I hope you all have a safe holiday spent with family and friends. The Curiosity Crew is out with another challenge from Tim Holtz' fabulous Compendium of Curiosities III Book. If you have been following along with our Compendium of Curiosities III Challenge, you know this is number 32 of 34 challenges. My goodness ... time is FLYING! We've had so much fun sharing Tim's techniques and products with you and putting our own spin on each challenge. And the entries we've been receiving are really amazing! So much thought and time has gone into your creations and I speak the truth when I say that often we REALLY have a difficult time picking a Curiosity Crew Winner. THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU for your participation and for your uplifting comments! Let's continue to ramp it up this challenge with something really original and creative!! Turn to page 59 in your Compendium of Curiosities III books and check out Frosted Film. This is more of a product challenge than a technique challenge but if you follow along in Tim's book, you will see that he didn't just slap the Frosted Film on something and call it "done". There is a bit of technique to it...even if you use a different substrate than Tim did with the Frosted Film. That's all I'm saying about that ... I have to admit that this challenge didn't finish out anywhere near the way I started. I'll show you photos at the end of this post as to how I started out and what I created using the Frosted Film. I like them but somewhere between the daisies and starting to work on the canvas, I switched gears and went from whimsical to vintage. I love the end results and I'll use the Frosted Film daisies on something else. Here is my finished 5"x7" Burlap Tim Holtz Canvas. I began by cutting some scrap Tim Holtz Wallflower cardstock into squares and rectangles and added them to the canvas using DecoArt's wonderful Media Matte Medium. I heat set them to dry. Next I brushed on a light coat of White Gesso, heat set that and added a layer of Scattered Straw Distress Paint (heat set to dry). To add more color, I randomly added some Abandoned Coral followed by Cracked Pistachio Distress Paints. Heat set to dry. To add more texture and dimension, I used some really dependable DecoArt Media Modeling Paste through Tim Holtz' Brick Stencil. I gently heat set the Modeling Paste and allowed it to finish drying naturally. That only took about 30 minutes. To give the bricks more dimension, I lightly brushed some Adirondak Terra Cotta Paint (mixed with a tiny bit of water) over them and blotted off the excess paint. After heat setting them, I used DecoArt's Media Titanium White Media Acrylic Paint to dry brush over the bricks. It is amazing how much detail and dimension you can achieve by dry brushing! Next I lightly did a little more dry brushing on some of the bricks and randomly around the edges of the canvas with DecoArt Media Media Burnt Umber Acrylic Paint. Finally I swiped a little Picket Fence Distress Paint over some of the open areas and partially wiped it with a baby wipe. Setting it to the side, I began working with Tim's Frosted Film. I die cut Tim's Window and Window Box with Grungeboard. I also die cut one of Tim's Pediments for the top of the window. I die cut one window, two window boxes and three Pediments. I glued the window boxes and Pediments together with Glossy Accents. I swiped Antique Linen Distress Paint over all of the window surfaces and then I painted all of the surfaces with a mixture of Mermaid Lagoon and Picket Fence Distress Paints (using a brush to get into all of the corners and cracks). After gently heat setting the window, I brushed on a layer of DecoArt's Crackle Medium and let it air dry. When that was complete, I added a light layer of DecoArt's Lace Chalk Paint and watched the crackling begin! Like magic, the cracks appeared, giving my window that farmhouse aged look. I heat set the window and then began adding subtle color with Distress Inks. Mermaid Lagoon provided the blue tones I was wanting to recapture on top of the predominantly soft white window while I wanted the Pediment and window box to be more blue. I distressed the edges with a bit of Vintage Photo followed by Gathered Twigs Distress Ink along the edges. Acrylic paints and Distress Inks work so well together! Don't be afraid to combine them on your art pieces! Next I die cut a beautiful little delicate vine and flowers called "Lavish Branch" from Memory Box. I used a fairly deep green cardstock and then lightened it by lightly swiping my Picket Fence Distress Paint over it and completely covering the little flowers with white paint. Using Mustard Seed and Abandoned Coral Distress Paint, I painted the little flowers and later added tiny pearls to the centers using Glossy Accents. I found a sweet little vintage girl in my folders of vintage children photos and sized her to fit my window, positioning her so that her sweet little face would not be covered up with the window panes. I placed the Frosted Film over her and added Tattered Flowers and a touch of Gathered Twigs at the edge of the photograph to the film then using 1/4" Scor Tape (double sided tape), I glued the "window" in place behind the die cut window. I cut the vines apart and glued them in place on my window box using Glossy Accents. Then I added some more dimensional roses that I had in my stash. Finally I added some pop dots to make the window box stand out and glued the window box in place at the bottom of the window. Then I glued the Pediment in place at the top of the window. I stamped "be kind of heart" a wonderful sentiment from Wendy Vecchi's My Kind of Art stamp set onto a piece of a muslin type frayed ribbon. I colored in the letters using my Broken China fine point side on the Distress Marker. The ribbon is glued in place using 1/2" Scor Tape. Originally I was going to place the window in the center of the canvas but I started fooling around with a layout and came up with the idea to add a piece of vintage lace. I loved the lace on the right side of the canvas. So I moved the window to the side. Next I found my sweet little vintage buttons, a heart charm and the two filigree corners. I sewed the buttons and heart charm onto the lace before I glued it in place. Speaking of the beautiful little heart charm and the filagree corners ... I bought these from our sponsor for this challenge ... The Funkie Junkie Boutique! Linda Coughlin is the owner and her store has tons a very cool little embellishments, laces and those "different" things that make your art projects so much more personalized. She's also got a big FOURTH OF JULY SALE going on right now so be sure to check her out! I glued the lace in place using three strips of 1/8" Scor Tape and then glued the filigree corners in place using Glossy Accents. I LOVE the way it gives such a soft, shabby chic vintage feeling to the canvas. Finally, I glued one of Tim's heart charms onto a filigree butterfly, added some thin wire antenna and glued it in place on the upper left of the window. The perfect finishing touch! Here is a close up of the detail and the dimension of this sweet crackled window. If you look really closely, you can see the clear frosty film that represents the window panes. I love the softness of the "glass" panes and how sweet this window and window box turned out. Now ... I will quickly show you how this Frosted Film Project started out ... Using Matte Medium, I glued some of Tim's Terminology Tissue Wrap onto a piece of heavy white cardstock. Once that was dry, I sprayed Dyan Reaveley's Lemon Zest and a bit of Pure Sunshine Dylusions sprays over the Tissue Wrap and heat set it. Next I added the Frosted Film over the sprayed Tissue Wrap and die cut the daises from Tim's Tattered Florals die cut. Using a text stamp, I stamped on the back side of the daisies that had also be sprayed with the Dylusions sprays. I gathered three daisies together with a long fastener and curled the petals using the small end of a paint brush handle. I DISCOVERED THAT WHEN I HEAT SET THE FROSTED FILM, IT ALSO BEGAN TO CURL! Next I had some little Paper Clay faces that I had molded and dried. So, I painted three of the faces and used them as the centers of the daisies. Then I added Black Diamond Stickles to the edges of the petals. Looking back, I probably should have done the Stickles on each of the daisies while they were flat and before I gathered them together. Live and learn, I guess. Anyway ... I was going to use these daisies underneath my die cut window but once I began working on the canvas and the window, the daisies just weren't going to work anymore ... too large, too bright and too whimsical. But, as I said earlier, I will use them on something else. For this challenge, I really loved the way this canvas turned out and it will definitely have a place on my studio wall. Now it's your turn to turn to pull out the Frosted Film and make something wonderful for our challenge. There are only three challenges left (including this one)! Linda Coughlin of THE FUNKIE JUNKIE BOUTIQUE has graciously donated a $25.00 gift certificate throughout our entire Compendium of Curiosities III Challenges along with the wonderful people at Inspiration Emporium. THANK YOU LINDA! And Tim and Mario have also so generously donated tons of Tim's products to be given away to one of our winners each challenge as well. So, there are two opportunities each challenge for you to win a wonderful prize! And you also get to share your art with all of the other wonderful artists who join us and not only share their work but support each other with wonderful comments! I hope you'll join us! Good luck!
