After visiting Milan several times now, I've always had the feeling that Milan is somehow more "real" than some of the more "storybook" European cities. Don't get me wrong, I love Paris, but despite its label as a fashion hub, Milan seems like a resident's city and not a tourist mecca. Milan's trams add to this purposeful nature, but still lend a charm that I hope never fades.
