KN43 Handcrafted by Danny McBride, the writer of the first three Underworld films, this small Neolithic knife is constructed from one of the rarest and most sought after hardwoods: gorgeous and expensive snakewood (Piratinera guianense), which is responsibly sourced from South America; Black Obsidian from Oregon, and Black Bolo Leather. Overall length, including blade and handle: 8.5”. Weight: 2.1 ounces. This is a highly figured piece of wood, displaying the famous “snake pattern” over the entire handle. Since this is primarily a display blade, it is not razor sharp. That said, it is obsidian, the point is sharp and it is NOT A TOY. Please note that snakewood is a naturally oily wood, so oil coatings (like Tru-Oil & Danish Oil) will not adhere or properly dry. As a result, this handle was polished by hand and then coated with Carnauba wax. Any light spots in photo are caused by the light source. I try to take photos under both natural sunlight and artificial lights, so you can see how the color changes accordingly. Please note that I strive to have satisfied customers, but if you drop the blade it could shatter. It is natural volcanic glass, but glass nonetheless. Care: wipe down with lint free cloth. If the finish dulls after handling, use a small amount of wax (Beeswax, Carnauba; even car wax with Carnauba), let dry, then hand polish with lint free cloth. Watch your fingers on the blade! The wand was challenging to design to avoid it from looking too much like a prop out of Harry Potter. The idea was to make it look like it was made from a bone from an ancient powerful wizard (or Bright). A functional catholic relic. To borrow from the film’s dialogue, the wand is a nuclear weapon that grants wishes. Flintlock pistols were an inspiration for some ideas. The final design, by another artist is a sharpened version. The wands tends to be glowing and hard to distinguish in most of the movie, with one exception, when the Inferni chase the heroes through the Abrams neighborhood. I had a lot of fun sculpting the filigree in Zbrush.
