The stump is camphor wood. Each material itself is very unique and very sturdy. The thickness of the top board is about 65mm. It is a precious single piece of wood. About Beautiful aged teak wood carved into a minimalist side table or stool. This side table or stool was hand made in the spirit of Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility. This kind of luxury is for a select few: The Emperor of Japan had a Wabi garden. Wabi is for people who already have a lot. Own an Andrianna Shamaris original. Andrianna Shamaris. You can tell a lot about wood just by looking at its rings. The history of its being is right in front of you - if it was affected by drought, or when it was healing, or it had a healthy life. This is the language of a tree, writing its history in each grain and ring for us to read about for years to come. With every piece of wood, a story is waiting to be told.
