Some weeks ago I made one small portable dollhouse together with my daughter. It was just a try, we used cardboard that time and made some furniture as well. I liked the idea of a portable dollhouse and the flexibility of the play it is allowing, so much that I wanted to design a more durable version of it. And et voila! This is the dollhouse I was working on the last weeks! We designed two versions, one small version including two parts providing four rooms And one larger version including three parts providing six rooms. Both Portable Dollhouses are handmade from birch plywood and perfect for imaginative play. Each house will make a cozy home for a child's collection of little dolls, Ostheimer figures or gnomes and fairies. Like all of my toys this Dollhouse is designed as simple as possible to inspire imagination. By giving children objects that are not highly formed and detailed, they can easily become more than one thing, and give children’s imaginations free reign. The walls of the dollhouses slide together in one second. Children can bring the dollhouse where ever they go in a neat, compact and easy to carry design. After some research I found a local seller who provides non toxic, formaldehyd free and certificated child-safe plywood. Each part is finished with child-safe Herbal Oil, linseed oil and carnauba wax to protect the wood and enhance the natural beauty of the wood. Both sizes are now available in my shop @ Etsy Sharing this at: Keep calm and craft on - Frontierdreams

Last year, I attended a lecture given by Dr Reggie Melrose. The topic of the lecture was on brain development and, specifically, how cutting-edge neuroscience supports Waldorf theories. She was utterly fascinating and her insight into the developing brain was truly enlightening. I couldn’t believe our luck when she agreed to share her expertise with […]
