Samurai Katana I modelled using reference from a real handmade sword. Base mesh with 3ds Max, high poly with ZBrush and texturing with Substance Painter. It was a lot of fun sculpting the ornamental details. I recommend the tutorial by Seth Thompson, that explains the process really well. Hope you like it!

Gears for Japanese samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune, submission from Artstation challenge : Ancient Civilization. This one get to be one the hournorable mentions ! Took me 2 week to finish the modeling, and UV, and normal map making. Blender, marvelous and Zbrush used for modeling and sculpting, Painter and Quixel for extra detail normal map. I followed somewhat traditional Armor layering and design, the thigh guard is usually have very bright color scheme and a ton of decoration ( the traditional shape is square and only have one layer of thigh guard), with my own tweak to better suit the overall character.
