On Friday night, Nate and I went to to see Willy Wonka Jr. It was a date night for us. :) The show was adorable!! I love all the plays that Stage Door Productions put on. All the actors/actresses do such a wonderful good job. Some, I recognized from past shows I've seen. Here's the front of the program. No pictures were allowed to be taken. The pictures below are from Stage Door Productions facebook page. Here's all the kids (with a parent) that won a golden ticket! Charlie is talking to his mom in their house. Charlie's dad is reading the newspaper and all the grandparents are sharing a big bed. My favorite scene was of Violet Beauregarde inflating into a giant blueberry. :) I remember this actress from when I saw Little Mermaid. She played Sebastian. :) Here's Charlie, his grandpa and Willy Wonka! (I actually know the Willy Wonka Actor. He's the son of my traffic reporter at work. And my traffic reporter also did all the costuming!!) The whole cast! It was a great show!!! I can't wait to see what they'll do next. :)

Willy Wonka’s costume is a white dress shirt underneath a purple patterned vest, a deep purple waist coat, a gold tie, beige pants, brown loafers, a brown top hat, and a brown walking cane.
1. Grandpa Joe is the laziest a-hole faker alive. When there's work and real life going on, he's laid up in bed with a million other old people, feeble and unable to contribute. Literally, these old people are bed ridden for YEARS. Wah wah wah. Poor Charlie's Mom has to do it all. But when there's a golden ticket, Grandpa Joe makes a miraculous recovery, singing and dancing and moving around QUITE well. Lazy faker. Get a job or sweep a floor or cook some gruel or something. via 2. Charlie is a weinerwhistle. This kid...his face is constantly on the verge of crying or whining or moping. He's also a dick, choosing Grandpa Joe the faker to escort him to the Wonka Factory instead of his long-suffering, hard working mother. via 3. The Fizzy Lifting Drinks situation. That a-hole Grandpa Joe instigated this, first of all. Secondly, I am a rule follower and I really thought Charlie was too. 4 It's terrifying. It's a kid movie and here you have to listen to a slave army of small orange robot-like things called Oompah Loompahs poorly singing judgmental doomsday prophesies, you are approached by menacing strangers (Slugworth) acting as an undercover agent for a tyrannical boss (Wonka) who is off his g.d. rocker, and there is quite possibly death by candy at every turn in the factory. 5. Did I mention the title character is totally insane? He is a creepy old tantrum thrower to boot. NO THANKS WONKA, you psycho. Take your golden ticket and sit on it. I do really like these lines though even though he's red faced and letting spittle fly when he says them: You get nothing! You lose! Good day sir. via What I do like is all the condescending Wonka memes on the internets. I also love Veruca Salt as she is my spirit animal. We both want it now. Have a happy and safe Halloween weekend, you must. From Darth Vader (Gus, a total match to his personality), Yoda (Geege), and a real pissed off Princess Leia. For the first time ever, Gus did not freak out over a costume. I think he felt a kinship to Darth Vader, just like I do. He's our alter ego.

Handmade Veruca Salt costume from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971). This costume variation set includes: a handmade dress made of a stretch cotton knit (T-shirt type fabric) embellished w/ faux black buttons, and complete with a zipper back, a free-floating collar made of white cotton with lace trim, and a set of free-floating cuffs made of white cotton with white lace and snap closures. This dress is NOT intended for children. The pattern used to make this dress was designed for teens and average sized women (anyone who can fit into Juniors clothing, or smaller Women's clothing). There is a children's option available in a separate listing. The collar for this costume has been upgraded to fit the movie version. The newer version now lays against the neckline of the dress and has a set of ribbon ties to make it adjustable. The cuffs have also been adjusted slightly. They are now slightly shorter than the ones shown. The sizes 18 through 22 come from a different pattern. Both patterns use the same sizing guide and will have the same fit, but the final product of sizes 18 through 22 will not have the seams down the front. Overall they will look very similar, except for this one small detail. ITEM RECOMMENDATION: because this dress is made out of a stretch knit, this will sometimes allow for a little extra space. Wearing a cami or tank top underneath is an easy fix. This will help to fill up any extra space if the garment feels a little loose. Second picture donated by Sara Colvin.
The story of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has been captivating audiences for generations. The thing that makes Willy Wonka give away his prized chocolate factory to a young boy named Charlie is the answer lies in the character of Willy Wonka himself..
Willy Wonka is coming to Broadway. Christian Borle stars as Roald Dahl’s legendary candy man in Jack O’Brien’s new production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
She wants the world, and she isn't going to wait to get it, even if it's during a costume party! In the Willy Wonka Violet Beauregarde Women's Inflatable Costume, you can dress up as the classic movie character who swells up like a balloon when she starts chomping on the wrong piece of gum – but you might not get as big as she does, even with the adult inflatable costume with a fan and the pair of gloves.
