The Book of Shadows is a workbook with summons, ritual models, spells, runes, rules governing magic, etc. Some books are legacies from one Wiccan to another during initiation, but today, each Wiccan makes its own book. It's also a tool for advancement on this path. How is that possible? Well it is recommended that apart from spells and rituals, put experiences, doubts, concepts, goals and more... and reviewing it periodically you will realize how much you have progressed along the way, you can also realize your weaknesses and work on them from @LOSILLEWITCH on Instagram here are misconceptions about this name: The most common is that many Wiccans think that name is due to the time when witches were persecuted and so they had to keep their knowledge ′′ in the shadows. Another misguided beliefs surrounding the name Book of Shadows is that people who are unfamiliar with Wicca blow their imagination away and that within their twisted thoughts a Book Of Shadows is a book with satanic invocations, demonic rituals and everything that has to do with ′′ satan ", obviously this is totally false, wiccans do not believe in the antithesis of the Christian God (that is satan), therefore it is illogical to ensure that Wiccans worship this being if we don't even believe in their existence. The term ′′ Book Of Shadows ′′ was invented by Gardner and the name pulled it out of a Sanskrit document that spoke of divination through shadows, although they have nothing to do with each other, al looking Gardner liked the name and adapted it. There are many Wiccans who prefer the term GRIMORIO that has been used by many magicians throughout history to refer to their magical books, this custom continues with ceremonial wizards and witches of today. HOW TO MAKE A BOOK OF SHADOWS? Apparently, thanks to modernity, and the ease that people have to save information on their hard drive and cd's, they have lost the tradition of making the book of shadows by hand, this may be more comfy, but personally, I've always preferred to do my handwriting. Physically many think it's necessary to buy a large leather-lined book with a metal pentagram on the cover, but it's not really necessary, while they're very nice, they're not indispensable, now that if you can buy a perfect one!. Your book of shadows is of great importance, it's a learning tool and an information compiler, which is why I recommend you put some of your personality into it, you can take any notebook and decorate it, you can even make a leaf notebook Recycled by yourselves, which would make you not only save trees but print your energy, and above all I recommend you write your BoS by hand. I realized that there are many people who all they do is print pages that they find online and make their book of pure impressions, this is a display of laziness and a little tremendous creativity; not counting that you learn absolutely nothing, When you write on your BoS, you become familiar with rituals, and you can even adapt and change rituals and it's something that a printed sheet can't be achieved with. If you choose to do it yourself these are some recommendations: 1.- Choose size, get some materials you might need to decorate, set, and organize. 2.- Fabricate the leaves: It's very simple just look for leaves you can recycle; cut them into pieces and soak them, when they are very well soaked put them in the blender to form a thick ball, add some glycerin or sap so that when you do the leaves, the liquid will absorb faster. once you finish this, just cut two pieces of fabric into the form of the leaf, and put an amount of the pasta into one of them, and the other use it to cover it, press in such a way that it stays smooth, removes excess water and ready, put it dry. 3.- Decorate the cover: with paintings, colors, etc. It's also a good option to queue the leaves and marginalize them for a unique style. Choose dark colors as these absorb a lot of energy that is necessary for your book. Always remember that you decide on your own content and articles, just pay close attention when you get it. Within your capacity is your CREATIVITY. WHAT TO WRITE To begin with, make sure that the physical book is how you want it and doesn't cause any negative feelings. Everything you need to know before you practice. 3.- YOUR LEARNING: This part includes everything you learn throughout your study and dedication whether within a Coven or Solitaire. 4.- PRACTICE: Once you finish your part as ′′ Apprentice ′′ you can start PRACTICE, this section is to contain your practices, jobs, spells, and own performances, it will help you to improve yourself every day. USED ALPHABETS IN A BOOK OF SHADOWS Many Wiccans don't want their spells and experiences to be read by anyone who can read their Book of Shadows, so over the years, various alphabets have been used to ′′ hide ′′ the content. This is not exclusive to Wiccans, so have ceremonial magicians, and precisely some alphabets I show you below are alphabet used by ceremonial magicians.
