Wombat Vombatus ursinus, Maria Island, Tasmania, April 2015. A lucky shot - I was actually photographing Cape Barren geese at the time, sheltering behind a log and facing the other way, as these wombats emerged from their burrow for an evening stroll and graze. In any case, wombats don't have great eyesight, so as long as I didn't make any rapid movements, they seemed unable to discern me from the log.
