“Speaking of figures, I’m going to do one when I’ve finished Spring. I’ll paint Méry Laurent as Autumn. Yes, she’s agreed to sit for her portrait. I discussed it with her yesterday. She’s had a fur-trimmed coat made by Worth. And what a coat! It’s fawn brown with an old-gold lining and I was in raptures over it... As I was leaving, I told Méry Laurent that when her coat was worn out, she should leave it to me. She promised she would. It’ll make a wonderful background for the things I’m planning to do.” [Christie’s, New York - Oil on canvas, 74 x 51.5 cm]

Originally by Pictorial Review, 'Frock in two smart versions, with jabot-collar and long or short sleeves worn separately or together for afternoon, or with draped scarf-collar and V-decolletage at back for evening'. Both frocks have the attractive skirt drape that ripples along the right side seam. 13-piece hand-drafted pattern in VINTAGE pattern size 14 fitting 32" bust, 26" waist & 35" hip. 3/8" seams are given. All of my patterns are full size on 18-lb translucent bond paper and in stock as I print them on demand. This bond paper is sturdy enough that it doesn't tear like pattern tissue, yet it is light enough to see and cut through easily. Each pattern comes in a lie-flat sleeve for protection. In the model of the teal day version you see Lauren of Wearing History Patterns (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearingHistory?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=922495612)! PATTERN NOT IN YOUR SIZE?
