I just finished a swap on Craftster with cackle, who is an amazing artist. She is as fond of Halloween type items as I am. Here are two of the things I sent her: 1. A smarmy smiling cat. This is a painted paper mache ball from Michaels, with polymer clay ears. The box is also from Michaels. All the paper is from Graphic 45. I never get tired of making these cats! and 2. A little witch collage. I love this so much, mostly because of the vintage handmade box she's in. The box came from the Field Museum in Chicago, and used to contain a fish specimen (not to worry; it's not stinky!) I loved all the writing, which was originally on the bottom of the box, so I took apart the bottom and flipped it around. I added the spider web charm and the image of the little witch (both from Alpha Stamps), and then some bottles filled with glitter and an old watch part. It's simple, but I really like how it turned out.

Gratitude Journaling (by Kathy Paper Pumpkin)
Hi friends and Happy Thanksgiving! I haven't done a Life Book update in awhile, so I thought I would share my latest page with you. I'm wayyyy behind, but I skipped over the ones I missed, and did this week's lesson. It's called "The Chemistry of Words," and is taught by Melody Ross. Here's how mine turned out... (acrylic, gesso, neocolor II crayons, ampersand stamp, pencil and doodling markers) The cool thing about Life Book is that you can download all the lessons, so you have them forever. I love that. There is so much to learn in this class - it's amazing. I wish you a wonderful day my friends! Whether you celebrate Thanksgiving, or Hanukah, or are just having a regular Thursday - I wish for it to be amazing! Thanks so much for visiting! I will see you again soon!
Taking a break from my Self, ...doing something different in my journal. I had fun! Hey, did you notice I even stuck with yellow, my least favorite color to work with?! This could mean something... Have YOU ever tired of your Self, and gone on break? Try something new and different! Kick up your heels! If you did, or if you do, come back and tell me about it! I'd love to hear! I'm going to a Halloween costume party next week. Normally, introverted me doesn't like to dress up or go to a party. But today, I started creating a costume that... well, you may not recognize me... more spooky stuff later...! Thanks so much for visiting, ~k

This is my first journal entry in my art journal. The background is inspired by techniques I learned in Moni's class. Also, I added some altered art, text, and a lot of collage elements.

This painting started off as landscape format but then never got finished. The canvas was then put on another wall, portrait format, and then waited there for a few years until the precise right moment to finish it. During the few years waiting period the wall was required for something else, so another canvas was stapled over it, a slightly smaller one so that it created nice edges, the edges always being the best bit. It often doesn't take much time at all to finish a painting, however you do have to wait for exactly the right time. Mediums include acrylic, ink, marker, imitation gold leaf, gesso, collage and spray paint. Unstretched, ships in a tube. The dimensions are the suggested stretching dimensions.
