View on Marunouchi “Londontown” and Babasakimon from the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The building on the left is the Bankers’ Club, on the right the Metropolitan Police Board. The first buildings were built in this former swampland in 1894 (Meiji 27). When Tokyo Station was opened in 1914 (Taisho 3), it became Tokyo’s premier business address.

Design work done for the spacesuit featured in Foundation, worn by Gaal and the crew boarding the Invictus. Working from a helmet that had already been designed I was tasked with conceptualizing the rest of the costume. This was done alongside Costume Designer Eimer Ni Mhaoldomhnaigh. It was great to see it so faithfully translated to screen, a real highlight for me. This was also the first time I used the Virtual Reality program, Gravity Sketch, on a costume brief to quickly explore and resolve the design in 3D. This ensured the suit could be manufactured and fit an actor, as the timelines were very tight on this brief.
