Hatzegopteryx (meaning Hațeg basin wing) is a genus of azhdarchid pterosaur, known from incomplete remains found in Transylvania, Romania. The type and only species is Hatzegopteryx thambema. The holotype (FGGUB R 1083A) was found during a student dig in the late 1970s. In 2002, it was named by French paleontologist Eric Buffetaut, Dan Grigorescu, and Zoltan Csiki.
