This is a gorgeous strand of glass faux pearls by the designer Kenneth J. Lane. Three strands of cream, hand-knotted glass pearls encompass your neck. The clasp is a large, gold-plated piece that bears KJL to give it a bit of a modern twist. You can wear the clasp in the back for a tradition classic look, or on the side for a more casual look. I love the weight of this necklace. As with all KJL piece, the quality is amazing. You can wear this out for the evening or add it to a t-shirt and jeans for a chic casual look. Kenneth J. Lane was the jewelry designer of choice for a number of First Ladies, movie stars, and other female luminaries since the 1960s! He created his iconic 3-strand faux pearl necklace for First Lady Barbara Bush in 1989, which she wore to the Presidential Inaugural Ball. This variation has a different clasp than the original, and was probably made in the early-mid 1990s. ***This is one of several KJL pieces that I have listed so please check those out too! https://www.etsy.com/shop/InVintageHeaven?ref=seller-platform-mcnav&search_query=kjl Condition: Great vintage condition, vintage patina - on the back of one of the ends of the pearls has a touch of discoloration. Not seen when worn. Both the pearls and clasp are in terrific condition. Size: pearls 9.40 mm round; shortest strand 16 1/4" long Weight: 120 grams Markings: KJL claps Please examine enlarged photos for details and condition. Much more beautiful in real life. I am not an expert on vintage jewelry, but I do buy and sell what I love! Since these items are vintage, they may have a wonderful aged patina and are not meant or expected to look brand new. I treasure their imperfections as part of their charm and history.
