HOW I KNIT: Knit, Purl in the Round, Continental Style Last time, I showed how I knit and purl Stockinette stitch flat. Today I’d like to show how I knit and purl in the round, Continental style. OK. Knitting flat and knitting in the round. What stays the same? I hold the yarn exactly like I do for knitting flat. What is different? When knitting flat, I like to knit through the back loop and purl through the front loop. When knitting in the round, I knit through the front loop (unless I need twisted stitches) and purl through the back loop. In this video stitches are NOT twisted.
