The P-registered Optare Metroriders were originally allocated to Burslem depot, but moved around considerably following their displacement there by older Dennis Darts, which were branded for service 22 and boosted capacity. With PMT's red and yellow livery - which made its debut on a Bristol VR and Leyland National back in 1985 - about to be consigned to the history books - or so we thought at the time - 40056 (P389 MEH) is seen here in Hanley about to operate a journey on route 38 to Birches Head - the second of PMT's routes to be converted to 'Minilink' operation, also back in 1985.
