♫In God's Hands♫ When I was still dreaming my "Cabin Dream" I set up a folder in my Bookmarks labeled "Cabin Dream". It included photos like this.... ....only, I'd like the house to be a little larger so it could accommodate a dining room like this for when my family is in residence.... I haven't been able to find my dream kitchen but here are some photos that touch on what I'm dreaming. I like these windows and cabinets.... ...but I prefer this stove.... ... and this island.... ....but I also like this arrangement for the greatroom/kitchen/dining room.... ....but with this cozy living room.... You'd take the stairs up to the loft.... ....where there would be three sleeping areas like this when our kids came to visit with their children, only NOT with purple bed coverings.... The master bedroom on the first floor would feel like this.... On the side of the house I'd have this screen-enclosed porch.... But I'd like a view like this from the deck off the living room.... photo credit: www.ForestWander.com When I was still dreaming we drove out to the mountains of Western Maryland to look at property. When I did not find the view I desired I became discouraged and quit dreaming. But something I read this morning has revived it. Alan Cohen says we should "Ask for 100% of what you want 100% of the time." He says when dreaming don't factor in things like finances because "When we factor finances into a choice it often obscures our vision." By setting aside this and other factors temporarily we are better able to see what we really want. I realize now this is what we did earlier this year when we decided, once and for all, to do something about all the downed trees and overgrowth in the woods next to our house. We did not let the daunting task or cost stand in our way when dreaming of what the woods could look like. This cleared the way for us to come up with a creative way to pay for the project, and, I believe, enabled us to find the right company at the right price to do it. You can see some of the before and after photos and read how God used the whole project to show me things I needed to see beginning with this first post (then continue clicking on "newer post" to go to the next post). I realize now I also need to stop "factoring in" my belief that such a view is not available within the 2-hour range we would like. I need to dream 100% of my dream 100% and leave God to work out the rest!
