This summer we were lucky enough to spend some time with family at our lake house. The valued memories we make there are and always will be treasured ones. Replacing the rigors of everyday life with quiet time spent away from your home hub supplies many an emotional and physical benefit. Once you take yourself out of that heavily scheduled routine of family life, you can then slow down and recenter yourself. Sometimes a weekend away is all it takes to feel like the stress that’s been weighing on you lightens. And therein lies the inherent magic the lake. It provides the comforts of home but just far enough away to leave whatever awaits you when you return. As far as decor, we feel like the more natural elements the better. Glass, stone, knotted woods, unpolished metals, and natural textiles like wicker and linen are all materials we look to, to try and replicate textures from nature. Also, keeping a clean neutral color palate helps keep the space bright and inviting.
