It took me 2.5 years and 8 (yes 8) attempts before passing the EPPP. In that time, I used many aspects (e.g., workshops, webinars, flashcards, exams, audios) of all 5 programs that are out there. As someone who is a very visual learner and likes mnemonics, these are not things I found a big concentration of with any of the programs, so I decided 6 months before my last 2 EPPP attempts to start creating my own. In the process of me making these, I also piloted their utility with friends who also found these very helpful in their studying and part of their EPPP success, and since passing I have been going back to make it even better and easier to use. My intention is that these will be a supplemental tool for visual learners and people who like mnemonics. In my original Domain A packet, Psychodynamic theories was 5 pages in length and is now 28 pages. I have added MORE mnemonics, MORE content, bunches of helpful images, emphasis placed on how the theories are similar, MORE examples than you can shake a stick at, broken down things in plain English, 3 what I call “overlap alerts” where we see these concepts in other parts of EPPP content to enhance integrating the material, and tips to get the content to stick and I also broke down some of the confusing/tricky jargon to improve understanding (I call these “jargon word alerts” and there are 2 I included in this segment). Topics Covered in these 28 pages include: Psychoanalysis (deterministic, free association, libidinal energy, transference, countertransference, 4 steps of psychoanalysis, deconstructivist) Defense Mechanisms (projection, reaction formation, displacement, denial, repression, sublimation, regression, intellectualization, rationalization) Id/Ego/Superego Freuds 5 Psychosexual Stages Theory of Psychosocial Development + Erikson’s 8 stages + strengths Adlerian therapy (self actualization, inferiority complex, birth order, systematic training in effective parenting) Jung’s Analytical Psychology (ego, personal/collective unconscious) Mahler’s Object Relations (6 stages) *DISCLAIMER* My study aids are NOT a substitute for using one of the 5 test prep programs for the EPPP and are 100% intended to be a supplement to whichever testing program and/or materials you are using. IF highlighted and colorful text are "distracting" for you OR you don't enjoy meme's/mnemonics/visuals/don't have a sense of humor OR are sensitive to curse words being sprinkled in, these ARE NOT the materials for you. #happystudying and best of luck on your exams!
