My favorite Christmas card so far this year uses the Night Divine bundle. Read the details on how I designed this card.
Welcome to another week of some gorgeous Christmas craft fun and inspiration from the Art with Heart team! This week I am going to make a Stair Stepper card! I saw a few different versions with diamonds or ovals as the focal point, I was still undecided until I sat down to create the card. I have made a side stepper cards but I thought I would do a regular stair stepper card! Being our Heart of Christmas blog hop I went with my favourite bundle to decorate my stair stepper fun fold card! Night Divine! When I thought about the steps of the card I thought they were perfect for all the sheep and cattle for this bundle. So I went to town and cut lots! On the card base of Night of Navy that I have folded into different size steps, I have adhered O Holy Night DSP that follows on, one piece to another. You can see that I have done it even for the down slopes that you can't see when you look at that card from the front and you don't have to place it on these sections but I like the finished look this creates. Under each of the steps I have added little hinges to keep the card from sliding apart when it is all standing up. Especially as I have added an extra large panel for the stable on the back stair. I have cut out all the gorgeous Nativity scene with Basic Black and Gold Foil. I decided that the black that Joseph, Mary and Baby Jesus got lost in all the commotion of the stable and all the animals and visitors of shepherds and wise men. I have no idea how Baby Jesus was able to sleep! The other card stock that I have used to create the scene is Basic White, Pecan Pie, Copper Clay, and Crumb Cake. You may have been wondering where the sentiment was. I just couldn't bring myself to put it on the front of the card but there was a perfect spot on the back so I have heat embossed in white the sentiment from the stamp set Night Divine onto Night of Navy and layered on O Holy Night DSP. I have added a spot on the back of the last stair to write your greeting for the card recipient. If you have any questions about my project today please do not hesitate to contact me. Now is the time to head to the next person on our Heart of Christmas inspiration journey. This week you will be heading to the wonderful Tina Gillespie. Today we are sharing cards that depict the Sounds of the Season. I chose the beautiful Peace to You stamp set for my offering to the Stampin INKspiration Blog Hop. Make sure you check out the links to all of the talented card makers at the end of my post to see what song and stamp set they used. While this stamp set could represent many Christmas songs - the song I am most fond of this time of the year is a relatively new song - Mary Did You Know. We had a gentleman that used to sing this song every year at Christmas Mass when my children were young - he had a beautiful voice and was very theatrical. We just loved hearing him sing this song and you would find us all humming the tune for days afterwards. 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵 What I didn't realize then was that the lyrics were written in 1984 by Mark Lowry , but the music wasn't written until 1991 by Buddy Greene. So when we were listening to it being sung at church - it was a relatively new song. It has been recorded numerous times over the years by various artists - but my favorite version is by Penatonix. I know several of my stamping friends were a bit afraid of this stamp because of the large amount of ink coverage it has - and not real sure about getting it to stamp out nicely - but I have to say that this stamp set worked wonderfully. Using my Stamparatus, I got beautiful images - with a well inked stamp pad sometimes even on the first try. I used several different die sets to create this card - the Framed Florets Dies for the oval frame, Merriest Frames Dies for the small poinsettia dies, and the Christmas Banner Dies for the evergreen branches. The background is embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and some Wink of Stella to make it shimmer. 🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵🎵 Here are the links to all those participating! I can't wait to check out what song or sounds each designer has picked out! Up next is Danielle Kassing!! Surprisingly with all the new ways of communicating, people still like to send their wishes with a real paper card and a written message! I don't know about you, but I love going to the mailbox this time of year and seeing so many cards each day. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas full of warm moments and special memories.
