Kringle Cat loves adventure, and he loves to travel to exotic places around the world. The only problem is: Kringle Cat always gets lost. That doesn’t stop Kringle Cat. He’s determined to have yet another adventure. He closes his eyes and points to a map of the world. When he opens his eyes again, his finger is on Peru. Kringle Cat is brave. He’s off on yet another adventure, but before he knows it, he’s standing at Machu Pichu in Peru, an ancient Incan archaeological wonder. Kringle Cat is already lost. How is he going to leave Machu Pichu and find his way around Peru? That’s when he meets up with Alfredo, a very friendly llama. Alfredo tells Kringle Cat to hop on his back and the two of them are off on an adventure, exploring the wonders of Peru. Carrie Foshee has written a delightful children’s picture book story in two languages: English and Spanish. Kringle Cat Gets Lost in Peru is a colorfully illustrated and slightly humorous tale that leads young readers on an adventure to another country. The young readers learn about Peru, about llamas, about archaeological wonders like Machu Pichu, and a little bit of another language as well. The illustrations help develop the plot. As Kringle Cat learns different things about Peru, so too does the young reader. At the end of the book, there is a glossary of sorts, providing interesting information about some of the things mentioned in the story (once again in both English and Spanish). A very enjoyable study in geography and world cultures.
