William "Little Bill" Glover Jr. is the main character of the series. He is an energetic and imaginative 5-year-old boy. He was created by Bill Cosby, who based the character's personality on his younger self, as well as on his son Ennis. According to the show's executive producer, Janice Burgess, Little Bill is a fictionalized younger version of Cosby. Burgess described the character as "little Bill Cosby." The entire series is a semi-biographical representation of Cosby's childhood growing up
