The tree will come with a standard wooden base or add a reduction gear for the modern industrial look. Both options allow the whole tree to spin freely when force is applied - don't worry, the tree does not mobilize by the cats playing on the tree. The reduction gear is ultra stable with a heavy duty all metal construction and heavy non-slip base. Each reduction gear is unique and adds sufficient weight to the base so you can feel assured the tree will stay in place. Each platform is finished with pet-safe clear finish for protection and longevity. Tree attaches to the ceiling either to joists or using drywall anchors (provided). Some assembly required.
