This product was developed to help students understand the process of describing! With this activity, students match presented attributes (function, color, category, and shape) to items on an assortment of cards. A key is included for your reference. CONTENTS: p. 3-5 KEY (I put in page protectors) p. 6 & 8: interactive pieces p. 7 & 9: storage boards p. 10-24: flashcards DIRECTIONS: Prep: Print & laminate each flashcard, the interactive pieces, and the storage board(s) (1 board without colorful & b&w, 1 with colorful and b&w for students who are ready to describe color with more variety). Cut out each of the cards and pieces; attach rough Velcro on the pieces and soft Velcro on the cards & storage pages. Put pieces on the storage board(s). Present board to students, and 1 flash card at a time. Students will choose appropriate adjectives to describe each item on the cards. Once 3 adjectives are chosen, discuss as a group. PLEASE NOTE - This product requires high prep before first use, but then can be used over and over again, all year long. You will need laminating sheets for task cards and interactive pieces. You will need velcro dots or strips for pieces. Pro tip: Cut the Velcro dots or strips in HALF (half moon / skinny strips) to save on cost!
