A handmade needle-felted mushroom inspired by the real Sandy Stiltball, Battarrea phalloides, a rare schedule 8 fungus. Wonderfully evocative of autumn this felted fungi would make a unique home accent or a thoughtful gift for a fungi or nature enthusiast. This beautiful toadstool is lovingly handmade from Merino wool and Cheviot tops and includes a wealth of detail including a reddish brown cap felted to look crumbly and a fibrous, bark-like stem! The mushroom is firmly attached to a rustic wood base which is felted to resemble the sandy soil where the Stiltball would be found in the wild. A Nature Felts label is also attached to the base. It would look especially wonderful displayed within a glass dome (not supplied) or on a mantelpiece. The dimensions are approximately 17 x 9 cm. This lovely felt model is intended to be enjoyed by adult collectors only and is not suitable for children. As with any art work to preserve the vibrant colours please display out of direct sunlight.
