Lake-town Lake-town (Esgaroth)- small settlement and community of Men East of Mirkwood in the north eastern part of Middle-earth. The town stands upon wooden pillars sunk into the bed of the Long Lake. As for me, scenes going in Lake-town are most interesting and epic in the Desolation of Smaug.
