Indian Sandstone These pavers are quarried from the highest quality Indian sandstone, where our expert quarrymen select and cut the slabs. With their years of experience, our masons cut and shape the stone to exacting standards, so you can be assured you are getting the highest quality paving in each pack. These slabs have been hewn and quarried from beds of natural stone and then cut by hand. Consequently, each stone also has a unique riven pattern in its finish and edge, so every stone has its own particular aesthetic - which is the underlying magic of the character of these natural stone products. Colour Blends Part of the charm of natural stone slabs is that each one is coloured or patterned differently. When you bring them together in a patio or terrace they create a rich blend of colours, tones and patterns to make a beautiful overall paved tapestry. The colour variation of natural stone will vary not just from stone to stone, but it will also appear differently in changing light and weather conditions, so you’ll be able to enjoy these fluctuations from season to season. Sandstone is naturally a little permeable, so in wet-weather, some of the surface water will be absorbed by the stone making the light grey colouring appear much darker. Unique Patterning As with any natural product be aware variation is normal and to be expected. Sandstone is a sedimentary rock which means it was created on the seabed floor as numerous layers of sand and particulates were laid down and compressed over many millions of years. Through this prolonged process where different colour sands are laid down on the seabed, the stone is formed with natural patterning and veins that blend to form this rock. Colours, tones and patterns vary naturally and that is precisely what you are buying when you select these natural products. These are not bland clones. Each stone is unique, with their own character and natural beauty. Gone are the days of time-consuming traditional pointing with sand and cement. Paving Direct recommends using a ‘Brush in Grout’ such as Pavestone Pointfix. Pointfix is a two-part jointing compound. One pack contains epoxy resin within the compound and the other epoxy hardener. Mixing and applying Pointfix is much cleaner and easier than traditional sand and cement mortar as you simply just mix the contents within the tub and brush into the joints. Pointfix is available to buy in two options. Either as a single tub to get the exact amount needed, or if you are buying our 18.85 or 20.7 m2 contractor packs then Pointfix contractor packs will give you perfect coverage and save you money. Pointfix - Single Pack 12kg Pointfix - Contractor Pack 36kg Care & Maintenance Sandstone is permeable, which means it is not impervious to spills and weathering. Therefore, to better protect your stone we recommend using a natural stone sealant such as Pavestone Natural Finish Stone Sealer, a water-based impregnator that ensures protection against stains and facilitates everyday maintenance.
