After I did the blog post on how to create a Design Board I received a lot of questions if there is a way to create a Design Board via your phone? I tested out two different Apps and I really liked both of them (one a little more than the other). I gave a tutorial with the steps on creating a Design Board. Also shared my new Spring Bedding Design Board. Head to the post HERE. It was really fun to play with! Answering one of your design questions today (soon I will be taking more) Design Question- "This is our family room, which is a work in progress. There's still so much we'd love to do when the budget allows. My question is - what would you do with this fireplace?! I've held off on painting it because I wanted to be sure it was the right decision. I love for rooms to feel light and airy but I also like some traditional elements like the dark beams so in some ways the brick doesn't bother me. However, it feels like a dark corner in the living room right now. This fireplace is our main source of heat so we have to be somewhat careful with what we do to it since it burns 24 hours a day for so many months."Thank you, Kerri My Suggestions- I personally would paint the fireplace. It would brighten up that corner and the nice mantle would be a great contrast. If you really love the red brick you could add some large wood boxes on each side of the fireplace opening and paint them white to balance out the white shiplap board you have above. Right now it feels really top heavy. NESTERS- (yes you!) Would you paint it?? (Comment on todays blog post!!) I did email Kerri back and suggest she move her sofa to face the fireplace. She did it!! She loves the change and so do I! Behind where her sofa is now is a dining table, so placing the sofa facing the fireplace also helps to separate the two spaces and break up all chairs.... BEFORE- AFTER- Great change right??
