Saint Lucia – the gem of the Mediterranean. Colonized by both the British and the French, control over the island swapped itself over 14 times. As a result, the culture of the island is heavily mixed; for instance, while the official language is English, a French creole is also commonly spoken. The geology of the island is as varied as the culture itself. Full of mountains, waterfalls, hot springs, and the world’s only drive-in volcano, Saint Lucia is bound to delight any kind of traveler; and yet, it is mostly off-the-radar, so that even in peak season, it’s never overwhelmingly crowded. However, its popularity is on the rise, so I hope these images will inspire you to book a trip to Saint Lucia ASAP before it becomes mainstream! For now, this little gem is all ours. Pin this!
I completely fell head-over-heels for Cascais. Cascais wasn’t originally on my itinerary. But I found myself with an extra day in Lisbon and decided it would be a good idea to take a day trip to Cascais. Unfortunately, so did about a thousand other people and I had to wait an hour in the train station for an hour just to buy a ticket. Learn from my mistakes and get started early in the morning! Barring the obnoxious wait time, I loved everything about my trip to Cascais. It used to be a sleepy little fishing village, but it’s now a major beach town in Portugal. Not only are the beaches picturesque, the houses are colored in pretty pastels and flowers drip all over the facades. I strolled through the streets without even a hint of an itinerary or a map, just letting myself get lost among the alleyways. At one point I bought an ice cream and enjoyed it by the glimmering Atlantic. It was such a perfect day. It’s only a 40 minute train ride away from Lisbon, so if you’re ever in the area, I highly recommend this as a day trip!

If I had to pick my favorite destination on earth, it would have to be the Amalfi Coast. There is no way to describe it except heaven on earth. Combine amazing classical Italian food with gorgeous and pristine beaches with stunning architecture with awe-inspiring nature with European charm, and you get the perfect formula for a getaway. Here is the best way to visit the Amalfi Coast in only four days! How to get there It’s actually quite difficult to get to the Amalfi Coast, the main reason being that the entire coast is situated on a cliff. Because of this, it is not well connected by air, or by rail. Regardless of where you’re staying in the Amalfi Coast, you will probably have to go through Naples, and then Salerno or Sorrento, depending, so these instructions will tell you how to get there. Once you’re in Salerno/Sorrento, you can follow any of the methods below on getting between towns to get to whichever town you choose to stay at. BY AIR If you’re flying in from out of country, the closest airport is Naples International Airport (NAP). Alternatively, you can fly into Rome Fiumincino Airport (FCO) and then take […]
