The Spotted Whistling Duck is one of the larger Whistling Ducks and is sometimes called the Spotted Tree Duck. They nest in tree cavities and like to roost in trees overlooking the water. Like other Whistling Ducks they have a distinctive whistling call. The West Indian Whistling Duck is also sometimes called the West Indian Tree Duck. They can often be found perching in trees and they feed during the night. Due to hunting and wetland draining these ducks are currently in decline and are currently considered vulnerable.
