One of the oldest of the English breeds of sheep is the Southdown, originating on the South Down hills of Sussex County, England. The Southdowns were continually bred larger to meet a greater demand for meat production over hundreds of years. The original flock became extinct for over 50 years. A small flock was found in 1986 and bread back to their original breed characteristics and named Babydoll Southdown as they were a miniature breed, then returned to England in 1999. #sheepfans #babydollsheep #southdownsheep #babydollsouthdown #fearlessfibers
