Last Friday Victoria Baths on Hathersage Road, Manchester had an open day where guests could wander around the baths which are being restored to their former glory. The building is not only beautiful outside, but inside too. Here are some pictures of things that caught our eye whilst we were there: Beautiful doors are fitted throughout the building, though many (including this one) are in need of some TLC. The building has 2 grand staircases which lead up to the spectators seats and the rooms upstairs. As you can see from this picture the rooms are all so light. The building has a large glass roof that has recently been restored flooding the rooms with natural light. Lower ground rooms also have beautiful stained glass windows in their ceilings so that they get natural light too. This is the mosaic floor in the entrance hall of the baths, these kind of intricate details are not seen in modern buildings and are what make old buildings so special. and last but not least, the cute changing rooms on the side of the pool. We really like this picture we took so look out for it on our online shop when it opens....
