Shiv Maha Purana, the supreme of all the puranas is dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the most important divinities of Hindus. Shiva Purana was originally written in Sanskrit by an unknown author and it is said to contain twenty four thousands shlokas. It is believed that this Shiva Purana was first narrated by Lord Shiva himself and later on retold by Lord Vyas.
