4x5 Kodak Portra 160 f/14 - 1/15s Update: Re-uploaded a better scanned version (2/23/2017) Like My Facebook Page! I'm blown away by the results I get with 4x5 film. The latitude, dynamic range and sharpness put digital and smaller film formats to shame. I really want to shoot a portrait with 4x5... Anyways, I've been living in Vancouver, Washington for a little over a week now. It's awesome only being a couple minutes from Portland and less than an hours drive from some beautiful places to hike. This photo was taken at Punchbowl Falls located about 30 minutes from Portland. This was the first hike my girlfriend and I went on in the Pacific Northwest. I didn't realize that you had to walk out into the water to see the falls...but that didn't stop me from walking almost waist deep into the water with my large 4x5 camera and tripod to get a shot. I wanted to photograph the waterfall from a low angle...I had to submerge myself neck deep into the water in order to look through the viewfinder. After some mental exposure calculations, composition and sliding the film holders into the camera I took the shot and prayed I didn't forget any steps (large format photography has many steps haha). I'm not much of a landscape photographer...but I'm extremely pleased with this shot :)
