The term "fashion icon" gets thrown around quite a bit these days. But when you think of those who truly deserve a place in the esteemed canon, few pass muster. Sure, you have Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel, and Madonna, whose respective styles changed the way we dress (thanks for inventing the LBC, Mademoiselle Chanel!). But then, there are the icons whose influence is more subtle but vast nonetheless.
