10K Stick Tite Antique Spectacles/Eyeglasses, Pince-Nez (Pinch Nose) 1840's. Dr. Guy Titsworth, Sedalia, MO. Leather case with Gold lettering: Dr. Guy Titsworth, Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat, Odd Fellows Building, Sedalia, MO. The felt lined case is in good condition with wear to the hinged outside leather. The rest of the leather is in very good condition considering the age of the piece. Both lenses are in good condition with the exception of a minor flea bite to the outer edge of each lens upon close examination. The nose mechanism on this pair of glasses is simply amazing. They are like butterfly wings that you pinch together when putting on your nose and when released they hug your nose. This style of glasses was made from 1940 on. The bridge is clearly marked 10K Stick Tite. The chain and hair fob are in excellent condition. Most of these glasses were made of gold-filled metal so they were affordable to many people. It's unusual to find solid gold antique Pince-Nez glasses which would have been made for a well-to-do person of that time. Great Missouri history antique.
