This unique quality adds to the fascinating and magical allure of marbling art. Marbling is the traditional art of crafting vibrant patterns using color pigments on oily water, combined with special ingredients, and then transferring these patterns onto special paper. This age-old craft, known as 'ebru' in Turkish, employs time-honored techniques. The word 'ebru' originates from the Persian word 'ebr,' which means 'cloud.' Over time, 'ebri' evolved from this term, taking on the meaning 'like a cloud' or 'cloudy,' and was adopted into Turkish as 'ebru.' Indeed, marbling often evokes the impression of clouds. Another possible source of the word 'ebru' is the Persian 'âb-rûy,' meaning 'face water.' While the exact origins of marbling remain uncertain, it is undoubtedly a decorative art deeply rooted in Eastern traditions. Dimensions: Length 50 cm, Width 35 cm (20 inches x 14 inches)
