The poster shows the collected fish from Louis Renard's work "Poissons, écrevisses et crabes", which was first published in 1719 and is now usually known under the title "Fantastic Fish". In total, there are around 400 different fish, mostly ficitve, especially in terms of their color composition. However, these fish are not completely invented and some can be assigned to real species today due to their shape. For people who like it colorful, the fish are especially beautiful to look at. –> You will receive a high quality JPG file in DIN A1 (594mm x 841mm) –> 7016 x 9933 pixel @ 300 ppi including a license for up to 5 prints DIN A1 The book supposedly shows fish from the "East Indies" from the beginning of the 18th century, a time when relatively little was known about life in this region in Europe.
