What a mighty name. The name of Jesus. Praise his name. Praise god. Praise god. Praise God. If you have your Bibles, open them with me to the book of Hebrews the twelfth chapter. Hebrews chapter twelve is where I want to go this morning. And I want to read a couple of verses there. I'll begin with verse twenty-five of Hebrews chapter twelve. This is a great church. It's wonderful to be here today. It really is. I love this place. Don't you? I love the people. I love the church. I love what god is doing. There were times during the pandemic where I wondered if I'd ever see the rooms filled again. I really did I think every pastor had that haunting thought that it'll never be the same but look what the lord is doing and has done. To god be the glory. Let's go down to verse 2seven of Hebrews chapter twelve. Now, this, yet once more, indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken. As of things that are made that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom, which cannot be shaken. Let us have grace by which we may serve god acceptably with reverence and godly fear. I'm so thankful today that what he's saying in the first verse is everything that's man made and temporary It's being shaken. We're living in that time. We don't know what the next seven months are going to bring. I I feel an uneasiness just a little bit. What is coming? Got wars all over the world. We got things happening internally. Everything that can be shaken is being shaken. But we have received the Kingdom Now, if you haven't, you can't shout on that part but if you have received the kingdom that cannot be shaken and my family is in that kingdom. Amen. My marriage is in that kingdom. My life is in that kingdom and it does not mean that we're immune from trouble and storms and difficulties and adversities but whatever life brings, I have received a kingdom, a structure, a foundation. Amen that cannot be shaken I want to preach today on how to be unshakable. Because you see the foundation that we build our life on matters. That's why in Matthew seven it talks about there are only two foundations that people build their homes and their lives on. He talks about building your home on the rock. And he said and when the rain descended and the flood came and the winds blew and beat on that house. It didn't fall for it was founded. It was structured on the rock. To everyone of these sayings of mine who hears it and they don't do them, they're like a fool who builds their house on sand and the rain descended, the floods came. Notice they go through the same thing. We're not immune. We we don't we don't get get out of free, get out of jail free, get out of pain free, get out of suffering, free card, because we're Christians. We're going to all go through it in life. But the only different between the two is what they're building their lives on. One is sand and one is the rock and he said that the one on sand fail and it was a great fall. The other one stood through the extreme storm. When you walk into a room like this in any of our campuses or any home. You you seldom think of structure. You seldom think of foundation. You you really don't matter to you. You don't care about what's up under the cement, the row bar, rhubarb, the the the I'm not a builder obviously but you don't think about all that stuff. Even this building, there's steel and stuff and all kinds of things that you can't see. It's the structure of the building that makes it stand. You see the carpet, you see the seats, you see the stage, you see the lights, etcetera. But it is the structure support that holds thing up. It's just like your body. You see the outward part, the skin, the face, the hair, the clothes but it's your skeleton which is your structure. If if you lose that, you have nothing. You have nothing. The same is true of a church. The same as true of a home. And the amazing thing about storm shelters, extreme storm shelters. Is When they're giving the way that they have to be constructed, they're told not to use air nail guns. I thought that was interesting. When you're building a hurricane shelter, a shelter that must absolutely guarantee that it's going to be there, it'll be there through terrible storms and hail force winds. It's nothing wrong with an air nail gun, a nail gun. There's nothing wrong with it. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop this up quick. I think it's a brilliant invention. And that's good if you want. If you want something for 10 years, 20 years, 30 years, it might last 50 years with a nail gun. Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. But if you're going to build something that's going to endure the most extreme worst storms, you gotta go not with the new modern tools that run on batteries. But you gotta get the old hammer and nail out. It's pretty amazing. The old method is the one that you want to trust when the storm comes. When all hell is breaking loose, I don't need to know that my whole life is built on just a pop, pop, pop of a little bit of religion. But I need that old hammer and that nail and that cross. Right. I need something that will outlast the storm. If you're just building a temporary church, pop, pop, pump, the latest, greatest, whatever. But free chapel is not a temporary church. Right. I am not a cutting-edge preacher. And I'm not up here trying to build a flyby, drive-by church. I still believe the church is essential. Yes. I still believe that without the church the nation goes to hell. I still believe without the church, the family disintegrates. I still believe without the church, the gates of hell will prevail. And if you're just building a temporary church and we've seen them pop, pop, pop, pop. Use the air gun and it'll be fine and it'll last for a little while and then like the tower of Babel, it'll fall. Right. Not interested in building that kind of church If you're going to build a safe structure that will withstand the storm, you don't need new gadgets, you don't need new methods, you need a hammer, and you need a nail. You need something that you know will withstand the storm. I'm not building a garage. I can't just have pop, pop, pop religion. Just come on Sunday pop and that's it and I'm good but it's the hammer and the nail because the carpenter's son said, I will build my church in Matthew sixteen. I will build my church and I'm not going to use a nail gun. I got almighty and going to come in a skin suit. Planet Earth. Bible said, Jesus thought it not robbery to be equal with god. In other words, and then it said, all of the god head was in him. All of god put on an earth suit and for 30 years, he did not preach a sermon, He created the universe, He hung the world on nothing, He spoke the world into existence, created man but now, he's on planet Earth in skin and flesh and blood. Jesus was 100% the out the flesh part of Jesus was 100% man. The spirit part was 100% god. And for 30 years, he doesn't heal, he doesn't do anything. Why? Because it's not a pop, pop, pop, nail gun deal he's building. And for three and a half years, he goes and then he says, I'm going to build me a church and the devil didn't know that the thing that he was going to use was a hammer, three nails, and two beams called a cross. And he said, that will become the structure that if you build your life on, if you flesh out your life as long as the foundation and the structure of your life is that cross and that hammer and those three rusty nails and the blood that I shed, I promise you, it's a storm shelter that will withstand anything hell can bring against you and your family. The Bible put it like this in Isaiah. No weapon formed against you shall prosper. I want you to clap your hands if you believe in the foundation that is unshakable. I want to hear today the words of Jesus, I will build my church, the gates of hell will not prevail. The church is not these buildings, the church is you. The church is you and your marriage. The church is you and your family. The church is your children and your grandchildren. I will build my church with a hammer and a nail. Amen. And it's not going to be quick. You'll go through things and sometimes you pray and it's pop pop and you get a quick answer but you know you're really getting strong when god allows the hammer to start and the hammer nail is blood, sweat, and tears. The hammer and nails sometimes you miss and it's bloody and it's and it's hurtful and it's painful and you're suffering and you're going through long days and long nights and it's or and it's just exhausting but when god doesn't give you the quick, pop, pop, nail, gun, answer. No, that he's building a structure in your family for generations. This isn't a quick throw up garage. This is a generational blessing and every time you open up this book, you're using the hammer and the nail and every time you come to church, it's not just a pop pop but this is what we do. This is who we are. This is what family is supposed to do. Is bring your family and worship. You are building an eternal house. Yes. Noah was commanded my by god to build an ark for the saving of his family. The text said. And it was not a nail air gun. It was a hammer and nail approach and it took him 120 years. Can you imagine the people who were making fun of him? Can you imagine the people who were saying how stupid? Why do y'all still go to church? Why do you still pray? Why do you still fast? Why do you still read the Bible? I'm telling you, we're living in that time where the the the little nail gun religion of just go to church on Easter and go to church and love god in your own way and do your own thing but there's something to the old method of the hammer and the nail and just saying we're going, we're going, and and and especially if you want a house that's going to endure. I cannot promise you, you won't go through stuff. I cannot promise you, your kids won't go through stuff. I cannot promise you your marriage won't go through stuff. I can promise you that if you're building it on the right structure and foundation, hell can hit you with its best shot, then old wolf, the devil can huff and puff but he will not blow your house down because Jesus himself, the carpenter's son, said the gates of hell. It's a guarantee your family and your home will still be standing. Turn to somebody and say you've got the guarantee. That's a big deal. I love that when Noah build it, got his family on inside of it. Everybody was mocking him and making fun but you know, the storm came. And when the storm came, they went in a minority but they came out a majority. And the only thing the storm did was get rid of their critics. I'm telling you that we have a structure folks. I can't even promise you the government. I can't even promise you the nation is going to be remaining 100 years from now. But should the Lord tarry his coming, The church that he is building will be alive. It's alive in China. It's alive in Ukraine. It's alive in Russia. It's alive all over the world. They can't snuff it out because it's built to last. All of the adjustments the world wants us to make They're messing with the structure of the family. God created them male and female And when you tell eight years olds, now, are you sure you want to be a female? Even though you're a biological female, you can choose. And if you don't want to be, we can get some surgery. You're messing with the structure, the, of the family, and even creation itself. You're messing with the structure. This is dangerous. These are perilous times. And if you don't agree with it and it goes against the core values of who you are and what you believe, you're somehow a bigot. No, I'm a person of faith who's building my family upon the word of god, the rock solid foundation. My my generation my generation put a man on the moon, This generation is putting men in women's locker rooms. That's mess with the structure. That's the skeleton. If you mess with the skeleton, the whole body collapses and it doesn't happen overnight but we're messing with the skeleton. This is not a a evil, mean preaching. This is not some kind of this is not even political. This is biblical. He created them male and female And I'm sorry but the marriage that is built on the rock is the marriage between a man and a woman. The the marriage that is built on the rock is the marriage that honors god and says, I believe in freedom. Live like you want to live but as for me in my house. We will serve the lord. I cannot be solid about that. It's the structure Anything else is sinking sand. Come on now. My god. We cannot just sit back and see the ten commandments mocked. Thou shalt not kill. The Bible said, if the foundations are destroyed, what will a nation and a church do and the people of god do? If the foundations, the foundations, the are the foundations, the structure. We're removing that. We're saying, Thou shalt not steal but if you want to, go in and take what you want because life's not fair. That gives you a right. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not sleep with your girlfriend, your boyfriend. Thou shalt not lie Thou shalt honor thy father and thy mother I shall have no other gods before me. Well, we don't need to be so absolute. Yes, we do. Neither is there any other name given whereby men can be saved but the name of Jesus. I don't know what to tell you. That's that's the foundation. You cannot mess with the structure. If you mess with the structure and and and what is wrong with the church is that we're allowing our foundations and our structures and we're and we're so afraid that that we're going to be penalized in the workplace or wherever that we're not speaking up but as Christian we're in a time where we have to say I'm going to stick with the sure foundation You know, Imma build it like our forefathers did. Even this nation It wasn't perfect. The flesh part is not but the but the structure. When you start dismantling the structure even of the constitution The structure of the Supreme Court. The structure of justice, the structure is going to be filled with abuses and but it's the structure that makes this nation great. It was built by people who came and they were not flawless. They had terrible flaws but they came saying, we want one nation. God. Own your money in god we trust. It says that. Now, if you want to move that structure out, get ready for a collapse of the economy because in god, we trust. Amen. Oh god, help me to preach and I I picked the wrong sermon to preach for the first time in a new church but so be it. I'm tired of, I'm tired of sugarcoating it and I'm tired of being quiet. Nope, this book is right. This book is on. This book is real. This book is alive. Culture should change the church. Culture should not change the Christian. Love everybody but stand for what you stand. I want to ask you because the problem is you don't know The sad reality is you will not know when you gave up too much until it's too late and the storm is upon you. Samson made a Nazarite vow that he would not drink wine It was his personal conviction. It was a vow he made to god and god said, that's the deal. I will honor it. I won't drink wine. I won't touch dead things. I won't cut my hair and that's my vow to you of consecration. The next thing you know, he's drinking a little wine He's touching dead things. There's a lion, the slain, and he's reaching down, getting honey out of it, touching dead things, he's sleeping with his girlfriend, Delilah. Whoops and I could see him going back in the gym. I could still press $600. You won't know when your powers left you. Once you start messing with the structure of your relationship and convictions with god. Oh, come on here now. Once you keep on a little here, a little there, a little here, a little there and then one day, the you don't know Samson how weak you become because it can be deceiving but suddenly, the Felicity and he wished not. He shook himself like he did other times but it wasn't there because he had messed with the structure so much that the spirit had left I'm simply trying to preach to you today that the structure really matters. The foundation matters. How much music, filthy music can you listen to before it affects the structure of who you are. How much filthy pornography can you look at? And in my generation, it was behind the counter but in this generation, it's in your pocket. Yeah. And I I I shutter for especially the young men. Yes. Because we we we didn't have access to it but now it's there. So, how long can you mess and dabble with stuff? How long can you run with the wrong friends? You still can come to church and feel god's presence and you still I'm not questioning your relationship with god but what I am questioning is, how long can you sustain it as you make more and more and more structural changes about who you are and the convictions of what you were raised in, that you know were right but somehow shift this this and change this and before you know it, you're not the person you used to be. I tell you, I, that, that fear, I fear, I, that's the fear of the lord. We need the fear of the lord back in the church. We need to, we need to understand that anybody can fall but unto him who is able to keep us from falling. If we stay connected to the skeleton which is Jesus, the flesh may fail but it'll always get back up. Yeah. Cos the structure and foundation is solid God put Adam to sleep. And he reached in his side, opened up his side, and pulled a rib out. You know why he put Adam to sleep? Cuz god didn't want his opinion on how to make his bride. And I think the church ought to be I believe that church ought to I believe that god's not asking your opinion about his bride. He know, he's a carpenter and he said, Imma do it with a hammer and a nail and I don't care if you like it or not, you either going to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and receive the holy spirit and get into my word and love me and forgive and walk in forgiveness and holiness and separation and live for me or not, I don't care but you're not going to get your opinion is not going to change this guy with the hammer and the nail build in the church and creating a bribe. And he forms Eve out of the structure of Adam He brings her to him That was and then Adam wakes up and he says, your bone of my bone Your flesh of my flesh and power comes from that structure. Did you know that the Bible said in Leviticus that the life of the flesh is in the blood? And life comes from blood and blood comes from your bones. Bone marrow is what produces blood and and so if if you play around with the structure of the bones, you're going to get in trouble. The bone structure can choke off the blood supply. Don't play with the bone structure. When we put when we put rainbow flags out in front of our church, we're playing with the structure of the church that Jesus built. And that's choking off the blood. The bone is what produces the blood. Love everybody, accept everybody. You're welcome here but I'm not going to change the message, the structure, the foundation is repent and be baptized and be born again and the old things pass away and behold all things become new. I could be an adulterer but I've been born again. I could be alive but I've been born again. Same thing for any other lifestyle. Do you know there's a story in the Old Testament where they didn't handle the bones of a king right and god sent a famine because when you start changing the structure, of a house and a nation and a home that god has built it won't last. Amen. Jacob strutted into Bethel and wrestled with god. He walked in. Jacob, and wrestled with god and god said, I'm going to change you, boy. But I'm going to change you Shirley first and he pulled his hip out of joint. Read it. He wrestled and the angel pulled his hip out of joint and god said, now that I've changed the structure of who you are, you can walk out now, Israel. I'm changing your name from Jacob to Israel and you go walk away with a limp and you're not going to walk the same way you used to walk because I've changed you structurally. You are not the same person inwardly that you used to big. That's old-fashioned repentance right there. God can change how you walk from now on. Somebody shout over that. I mean, they told you counseling couldn't change you. Nobody could change you. A program can't change you. I'm not against any of those. They can help you stay on this right now but you have to have a structural change at some point. And the blood and the cross and the nails and the hammer. Of Calvary are the only things that can change you. Let me close with this. In second Kings The Bible said, that the Israelites were coming from a battle and one of the soldiers had been killed. And they were being chased by the enemy and so they took the corpse and threw it in a cave and it was the cave where Elisha's bones were lying. And when the dead soldier of a new generation touched the old bones of the old prophet. He touched the old foundation. He touched the structure. Notice this, anytime the structure is there resurrection power is looking for an opportunity. Resurrection is always attracted to structure Which means if the enemy attacks you and your family, as long as you hold on to the word and hold on to the cross and hold on to the name, the power of the Holy Spirit. I can't promise you that it won't look like it's dead, but I can tell you that what draws resurrection power, it's always drawn. Yeah, it's bad the new generation but if they'll touch the old structure the old hammer and nail. I don't, it's not pop, pop, pop. It's hammer and nail. The cross. And when they had the Passover lamb in Leviticus, there was a command and Jesus fulfilled this prophecy. Said, when you eat that lamb, make sure when you cook it and when you prepare it, that you do not break one of its bones, no bones on that lamb was to be broken. Isn't it amazing that when they took Jesus to Calvary and hung him on the cross, he had a thief on one side and a thief on the other side. The soldiers in order to speed the crucifixion process up would break the knees of the person they were crucifying and the Bible said the soldiers went to break the knees of the thief on one side and they broke his knees and they went to the other thief and broke his knees would cause the blood to go faster and cause the person to die notice this on one side one represented Adam broke the knees Adam fail. The other side represented Lucifer. How do you know it represented Lucifer? Because he said that old thief cursed Jesus and said, if you are the son of god, that's the same word Satan used in the wilderness when he when Jesus was fasting 40 days and forty nights. So, one represents the fall of Adam to sin. One represents the fall of Lucifer from heaven. Yes. And they go to break the knees of Jesus, the Passover Lamb and the Bible said that he had, they stuck a spear in his side. Watch this, a spear in his side, blood and water gush out in his side just like Adam, just like Adam, Eve is going to come out of his side, blood and water, born again. He's going to get him a bride out of Adam's side. He's going to get him a bride out of Jesus bleeding side. We are the body of Christ. We are the blood. We are the bride of Christ but this powerful thing is when they went to break the knees of Jesus. They said, there's no need to break his knees. He's already dead. Why? Because this, why couldn't they break his knees? Because the structure couldn't be messed with and anytime the structure remains, it didn't matter how bad the situation gets. If you stay on that firm foundation, resurrection, is always attracted. To an unbroken foundation and on the third day, he came up out of the grave, out of the tomb, I'm preaching to families, I'm preaching to people, hell wants to destroy your family and your marriage, and we've been there, and I can truly say, sometimes you feel like all you got left is a skeleton. But the structure stands. Get ready for resurrection. because god's not finished with you and your family. Mama, quit worrying. Quit being afraid. Quit worrying. If you built that foundation under your children, I tell you today, I will build my church, the man with the hammer and the nail say it in the gates of hell. Will not prevail. It's a guarantee Wow. Stand to your feet all over at every campus. No one moving. Please, reverently, just stand there for a moment. How many of you today would say, Pastor my family, I need, We are under a severe attack. Let me see your hand. Just be honest. We're going through something, some hundreds and hundreds of hands. Can I challenge you this morning? I feel this in my soul at every camp to get out of your seat and come down with your family as much as you can and stand together and reaffirm the foundation and the structure The Bible said in Romans, nothing can separate us from the love of god. Come on, bring it to Jesus. Bring it to him this morning. Bring it in a holy atmosphere. Bring it with the word that has been proclaimed that says resurrection power. There's still structure enough. I know a structure in that family or you wouldn't be in church this morning Come on. Come on. It's not too late for a miracle. It's not too late for those children. It's not too late for that marriage. It's not too late. God can do it. This is beautiful. Now, all over this room, lift your hands up toward heaven. And I want you to pray for a moment. I want you just to say, god, we give you our homes. We give you our family. We give you our nation. We give you, oh god, our church. We give it to you. We build it on and reaffirm the foundation. I'm not building saying, I'm building on the rock. So, we come back to you today. Some of you like Samson have been playing with things. Come back to the firm foundation, to the structure. Let's worship all over this room. Let's worship him. Let's praise him. Give him your family. Talk to Jesus about it right now. There's strength to you. Greg Rochelle said thing, pray together. Glory to god Every head bowed, every eye closed, every campus If you don't know that you know you're saved, if you've wandered far, If you're lost if you've lost the structure, if you've, if somehow you've allowed that rock-solid foundation to be destroyed in your life you can come to him this morning He's got a hammer, a nail, and a cross. And he'll wash you and he'll cleanse you and he'll forgive you. Pastor, you're preaching to me today. I need that firm, unshakable foundation under my life. I need to surrender my life to him. If that's you, boldly lift your hand right where you're standing. I'm going to pray for you. Right where you are, hands are up all over the room in every campus in the prison. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He loves you. He loves you. Hallelujah. He loves your family. He loves your home. Just keep that hand high unashamed. Just raise it high and unashamed. Now, look around you and if you see someone with their hand raised, gently lay your hand on their shoulder. There are hundreds it looks like across this congregation and I'm sure that there are many, many, many out there. Take time to lay your hand on them as an act of support. To say, I stand with you. I know the wind will come. I know the adversities will come but I receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken. We will stand. We will overcome. We will stand firm on god's promise. I am forgiven. I am born again. Give the lord a mighty, mighty, mighty praise this morning. Thank him and amazing. Now, listen. Raise your hand and receive this blessing. It's the arrival of the king. Let's start sing getting started Hello, my name is Mary I'm not the Mary. I'm Mary from the town of Magdala. You can call me Mary Magdalene and I understand that you've come to hear the story of Jesus. Well, let me just tell you, it is unlike anything you've ever heard. You see, Jesus did things a little differently. For example Most kings ride into town on a stallion to display their power and their might. But Jesus, he came with humility riding on a small donkey. Yes, Jesus, the king of kings, the lord of lords, the creator of the heavens, and the stars, and the universe, rode into Jerusalem on a lowly colt. Many didn't understand him, but he came to love and everyone. His fame grew throughout all the land and many came to watch him perform his miracles and it always astonished us. I mean, he raised Lazarus from the dead. He even spit in a blind man's eyes once to restore his sight. He walked on water. He freed so many people who were tormented. He even freed me. Jesus. He did so many wonderful and miraculous things. And I suppose that if anyone were to try and write them all down, there would not be enough room in the world for all the books that would be written about him. Just get me to Jesus I don't care how I don't have to wait to get the healing I got a faith without a ceiling tear off the roof the king's in the Jesus Jesus and his disciples often ate meals together, just the twelve of them. And those times were special. There were no crowds and noone to distract them. They were able to just sit and be with Jesus. To recline next to him and soak in every bit of wisdom he had to give. Most of those suffers with him were full of laughter and joy. But this night was different. It began with a ridiculous argument between the twelve. Asking Jesus which of them would be the greatest. Jesus being the patient man that he is, told them simply that the one who serves would be the greatest. He was the prime example of that. Was he not? For Jesus was in fact the greatest of all, yet he came to serve us. Each disciple stooped their head low in embarrassment and let the argument go. I would love to tell you that the night was pleasant from there on. That they had a wonderful dinner and laid their heads down in peace. But not how it happened The disciples were heartbroken when Jesus announced that one of them, his friends would betray him. How could that be, they thought? Who would dare betray their own friend? Each of them questioned, is it me? Is it me? Desperately hoping, it was not. As the disciples discussed this with each other, John leaned over to Jesus and asked quietly, who is it? That will betray you, Rabbi. His answer was simple. The one who dips his bread into the bowl after I do. And that's when John saw it. A hand reached across the table and dipped into the bowl. The hand belonged to Judas Escariot. He was secretly betraying Jesus. Judas, the one who had been with them for so long, who had witnessed miracles Jesus had done. It was he who had betrayed Jesus John's eyes caught Judas walking out, making no announcement as to where he was going. And noone else questioned his absence. But before John could further discuss the horrible incident, Jesus had already taken some of the bread from their meal and lifted it up. Giving thanks to his father for it. He broke the bread and told them, take and eat. For this is my body that is given for you. Then after, he raised the cup and gave thanks, saying, this is my blood that is poured out for many as a sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in remembrance of me. It was at that moment that the disciples realized it was no ordinary supper with their Lord and friend. Of course, nothing about him was ordinary. What they didn't know, however, was that supper Was that supper. Would be the last meal they shared with him before he died. Jesus asked Peter, James, and John to follow him to the Garden of Gethsemane where they would keep watch as he went to pray. They had never seen Jesus like he was that night. His face was full of sorrow. His hands were shaking by his side. Sweat rolled down his forehead like drops of blood. Jesus was in anguish knowing what was to come. He walked through the garden and eventually fell to the ground saying, father, if it is possible, please Take this cup from me. Jesus knew the gruesome death. He had to die in order to save those he loved. And he was scared. He pleaded with his father to take it away from him. So that he wouldn't have to suffer nor carry the weight of this burden any longer. Yet, at the end of his prayer, he took a deep breath and said, not my will. But yours be done. In heaven it be name in us this day day and as we forgive our debtor and lead us not into temp temptation but deliver us is the The footsteps of Roman soldiers were heard in the distance being led by the betrayer. With great fear, Peter, James, and John watched as Judas greeted our lord with a devious kiss. Sealing the deal for soldiers to seize him. They violently grabbed his arms and took him away. And though Peter tried to stop them, it was Jesus who protested against his rescue. Jesus gave the soldiers permission to drag him away. Throwing him into the hands of men who would decide his fate. The Roman soldiers viciously threw Jesus at the feet of Pilate, who interrogated him to see if he was truly guilty of a crime. However, he found no basis for a charge. He even tried many times to set Jesus free. But after the Jewish leaders argued with him, his last option was to turn the decision over to the people. And when he asked the crowd, what would they have him do with Jesus? They yelled out in a unified voice. Crucify him. Crucify him. Pilate pushed aside his own opinion and washed his hands of the situation. Declaring that he was innocent of this man's blood. They tied Jesus to a post and whipped him mercilessly. His skin was torn and the pain that rushed through his body was surely unbearable. Yet, he didn't open his mouth. Nor did he protest. He took the punishment knowing that by his wounds, we would be healed. Oh the perfect son of god in all his innocence you're walking in with dirt with you and me he knows what living is he's acquainted with our grief man of sorrow son of suffering there's a god who there's a god who the one who wouldn't but you change the my freedom your stripes all praise king Jesus glory to god in heaven still speak still reaching her praise king Jesus glory to god there's a god who there's a god who me to the Jesus did no wrong Never once did he commit a sin. He didn't lie. He didn't steal. He didn't murder. He didn't cheat. Yet, there he was. Nails driven into the bones of his hands and his feet. holding him up on a splittery cross. A crown made of thorns was shoved onto his head. By those who mocked him, they taunted him, spitting in his face, yelling, you saved so many others. Why don't you save yourself? Why didn't Jesus save himself? Because God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. He would rather die on a cross to save us from our sin. Then remain alive and live without us. He took our place. He certainly took my place. Those nails should have been in my hands and in my feet, that was the punishment that I deserved, not Jesus. But he took it from me. He took it for all of us I can still hear the sounds of that day. The sounds of my savior ringing in my ears. This day is not about anything but the resurrection. You can't cancel Easter. He alive. Somebody give him a shout of praise. That's our message, the blood, the resurrection, the cross the savior Jesus. I love him this morning. You may be seated. Calvary was God's divine reach Calvary was god saying, I want you to come home. Calvary was god saying to hell, you cannot have them. You cannot have their family. You cannot have their children. You cannot have that marriage. Calvary is two pitchers at the same time. Calvary shows us what god hates, sin, and death, and destruction, and pain. But it also shows us what god loves you. He loves you When they arrested him in the Garden of Gethsemane, Simon Peter wanted to fight for him and he cut a man's ear off with good intentions and Jesus kindly rebuked him. And he said, I don't need you to fight for me. No man takes my life. Listen carefully. He said, I have the power to lay down my life. That's crucifixion and have power to pick it back up again. That's resurrection. And he said he'd do it before he did it. When I think about the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I think about how that on the day of atonement, according to Exodus chapter twelve, a lamb had to be slain. And the lamb of that blood would be put on the door and it would keep the destruction and the, and the destroyer out of that home, and out of that family. The Bible said that that on the Jewish calendar happened on the seventh and the fourteenth day but the same Bible said when Noah's ark, which is a picture of Calvary. I'm going to tell you why. Because the Bible said, on the seventh month, on the Jewish calendar, the the seventeenth day. The ark came up and lodged on Mount Arat, and, and it was lifted out of the waters of death. So you have in the same, story the same month, the 7th month, the same week, the lamb was slain on the 14th and if you count 3 days, 14, 15, 16, 17, and the ark in the same month, the 7th month, was raised up on the seventeenth day, death, the ark that brings us up above death, and the waters of death. That is the crucifixion and the resurrection. We see other picture of Calvary in the Old Testament as god told Abraham, take your son. your only son. Take him up on the altar. Put build him an altar up on Mount Moriah and lay your son on him. On that altar and take his life And Abraham, the Bible said, put the wood on his son's back. Think about that. See, our heavenly father putting the cross on his son's back and it was a three-day journey. Your Bible said, three days to the top of that mountain For three days in the mind of the father, his son was a dead man. And when they got to the top, Abraham raised the knife and an angel stopped him and there was a ram caught in the thicket and blood was shed. But somehow, the one who was supposed to never walk off that mountain, the sun, He was able to walk off the mountain that took three days journey to get to another beautiful pitcher of crucifixion and resurrection. One of my favorite pictures of the crucifixion and resurrection is in the Old Testament. When God was choosing a high priest, man could not get to god. So, god said, I'm going to use a man and the man will represent the people to me and he said, you who I choose Israel when you take a stick for each tribe there were twelve tribes and he said cutest limb off of a tree and lay it in the ark of the covenant there in the Holy of Holies lay it on that holy mercy seat and I want 12 of them representing the twelve tribes the one dead limb and stick that comes back to life supernaturally even though it's been cut off from soil and anything that should give it life. You'll know that's my choice. I choose that tribe, the Levites, and I choose that leader. His name was Aaron. And the Bible said that they came back into the Holy of Holies. The and when they looked, there was only one out of twelve that had come back to life and that dead dead tree had resurrection power and it was producing that limb was producing blossoming and it was producing almonds. Death and resurrection. There's a lot of lot of religions that claim they're the way. There's a lot of people that tell you anyway will get you there. It doesn't really matter what you believe. But if you want to know who God's true pathway to eternal life is to heaven. There's only one. And he said here's my contest. Kill them all. Let them die and then sit back and watch and see which one comes back to life and so they took Confucius and he died and he's still dead and he's still in his tomb. And there are other religions like Muhammad is dead. And he's still in the tomb. There's only one. if you go to Jerusalem who is not in the tomb. He is alive. And he is in this place today. That's God's choice. I am the way Jesus said. The truth and thee life. And this is more than just a story It's more than just a talk. Jesus defeated death on that cross and through the resurrection and now, death is just an incident. It's not the final state and those words may not carry a lot of weight to you if you're a young person or or your family is not really had death invade your family circle and take someone that you love very much. But there was a in this room yesterday and one of the performances that I met with afterwards and they lost their daughter in Athens, Georgia by horrible, horrible murder. And they said in some of the seats that you're sitting in and when we went back there, they were moved and they were so strengthened by the fact that death is just an incident. It's not the final state. If someone dies, believing in Jesus Christ. That's the message of Easter. That's the message of hope. That's the message of faith. My mother-in-law is sitting right over here. Her name is Pat. She's been such a blessing in our life. We lived in her home for three years when Charice and I first got married. Her and her husband, Jimmy, and they've been so kind to us all of their our lives and all of our ministry stood with us And she had a physical attack that was very serious this week. Pat did and she had to be rushed to the hospital and it was very serious but the good news is she's sitting right up there and she's alive and well and doing amazing. So, we were in the emergency room in Atlanta and it was extremely crowded and there's a lot of going on and and when they finally got my mother-in-law settled and got her stable and got what needed to be going on there. My wife and I and and Charissa's sister, Lashay, we're, they were, they were, we were all sitting there. There was a man beside us. There was a curtain and we weren't eavesdropping but it got quiet in our room and we could hear everything in their room. And there were doctors coming and going and nurses and attendants coming and going. The man had gotten off of an airplane and had to be rushed to the hospital. He worked on cruise ships and lived in Miami and it was an emergency physically and they brought him in and then the report started coming. One bad report after another. We're just sitting there and and you could hear in the man's voice. Weak he was, how desperate, the coughing, the the I've been in those situations. I know when someone's dying. And one after another, the doctor started telling him, your kidneys are shutting down. You have congestive heart failure. We've done all that we can do. We're even going to bring hospice in just a few minutes and they'll take you up to where you will be, sir and will make you as comfortable as we can and when he was told that and all of us were sitting, you never know who's on the other side of the curtain. You never know who was praying for you when you didn't even know they were praying for you. You didn't even, you don't, you will never know what god, how many times god laid you on somebody's heart and you should have been killed in the car wreck or you should have died on drugs or you should have been in a in a in a in some kind of dangerous situation that could have taken you out. And we were over there just under our breath, just under our breath, praying, praying. Lord, help him because when he was told he was going to die, I'm just going to be honest. He said, blank me. That was his response. Blank me. Oh, no. Oh, no. And about that time, my wife said to me, you should go pray for him. You should go and and I'm I'm bold when I've got a microphone and for some reason, but I'm very shy. If you meet me out in the streets somewhere, I I I'm that's not my personality And then she she really, I hate it when she uses the ministry against me. She she turned and she said, you're supposed to be a preacher. And so I get up and I don't know what's going to happen. I don't know if the doctors are going to get upset. I don't know if I'm going to get arrested. There's so many laws. Nowadays, you don't know what you're stepping into. But it just was amazing. All the doctors had left. There was only one about six foot four nurse and he was a male nurse standing there attending to the man. When I walked around the corner that man is about 62 years old, was sitting there and he just looked up and I said, I don't mean to impose but I'm a preacher. I'm a pastor and my mother-in-law is right here next to you but I heard the whole report and I said, I would love to pray. He pulled the thing out of his nose and the emotion, come on in. Come on in and I walked in and I laid my hands on him and I prayed for him and I said, Lord, show him who you are and show him how much you love him and be with him. He couldn't even get his family there. Nobody was there with him but I have no doubt that man is in heaven, right now. Because that, you say, god can't save anybody like that. All the thief said, hanging on the cross was nine words. Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom and Jesus said, this day, you'll be with me in paradise. It's not up to you to perform. It's up to you to say, Jesus, come in. I receive you. And if you can't believe in the resurrection, you can't believe in the rapture. Because the same one who got up out of the grave is coming back again. And if you can't see the signs of the times all around you, if you can't see, I'm sorry, Mr. President. This is not Rabbit Day, this is not Groundhog Day, this is not Trans Day, this is Resurrection Day. This is a day where celebrate Jesus Christ We're not mad at anybody. We don't hate anybody but you cannot have this day. We will praise him. We will come out from behind the curtain and not to be a and not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Maybe all of us need to be pushed out Turn to somebody and say, I thought you were supposed to be a preacher too because if Jesus is in you, you need to witness the people. Do you want to be saved? I could be preaching to somebody for the last time. You don't know what tomorrow holds. Do you know that you're saved? Do you know that you're cleansed? Do you know that you're forgiven? He'll give you three things. A past forgiven? A purpose for living? When I heard them singing those old songs, it took me back to when I was 20 years old and I had my life mapped out and the lord found me my second year in school, majoring in music. I was going to be a performer of music. That was my passion. The old gospel message got a hold of my heart in the summer when I was 20 years old, home from school. God said, I want you to preach this message. I'll give you a purpose for living. I'll give you a past forgiving, a purpose for living and a home in heaven. All of that is packaged in the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Every head bowed, every eye closed. We've had almost 2000 people Who have text and let us know that they've accepted Jesus in these amazing services. To God be the glory. I'm believing. I'm believing for hundreds in this service in the overflow. I know that there thousands of you all over the world watching this live for the first time. We want to hear from you. Pray this prayer. Everybody just bow your head one moment. I I I've gotta do it like I feel the lord wants me to. He said, if you're ashamed to acknowledge me, I I won't acknowledge you before my father and his angels in heaven. I'm so glad my wife pushed me. And I'm pushing on you a little bit I'm pushing on somebody who who god has been merciful to you. God has been good to you. He still loves you. He's reaching for you one more time. And I'm pushing you now. Accept him. This is your moment. Swallow your pride and accept him. Victory's on the other side of you saying yes. Pastor, you're preaching to me. I'm not right with god and I would love to know my past is forgiven. I have a purpose for living and I have a home in heaven. I want that. I believe what you're preaching. I want it. If that's you, boldly, lift your hand right where you're sitting all over this room. Wonderful. Raise it high and unashamed. Raise it by faith what you're saying is I acknowledge him as king and lord. That's fantastic. All over this room in the overflow. Wherever you're watching it, just keep that hand high. Just another moment. Everybody else. Repeat this prayer. Everybody watching now, repeat this prayer. Say these words, Lord Jesus. I believe in you. I believe in your crucifixion. I believe in your blood. I believe you were sinless. But you took my sin And you conquered it. And you rose 3 days later. I receive eternal life. I receive a past forgiven. Purposeful living and a home in heaven in Jesus name. Would you give Jesus the greatest praise? Won't be won't be For 3 days, there was nothing. Nothing but an eerie silence across the land. As we mourn this unimaginable loss. My own heart felt grief like I never thought was possible. And for a moment, I lost every bit of faith that I once had. But let me tell you something. God always finishes what he starts. For early on the third morning, Mary and I went to the tomb where Jesus was buried and not only did we find the tomb was empty, but we were greeted by angels who told us, he is not here. He has risen. Jesus the son of god, crucified on a cross and buried in a borrowed tomb, had not only conquered sin but also the grave. We could hardly believe it. Even after seeing it with our own eyes, our Lord, our savior, our everything. King Jesus is alive. That sealed the promise began to breathe the roaring grave has no claim oh my soul as long as I'm breathing I my soul I'm going to is your faithful praise because you're true Praise the lord. Praise the got breath in the body. If you got breath in your body, praise the lord. Can we tell this amazing cast and crew how much we appreciate them? Wow. What an incredible production.
