This armchair is the result of several experiences with hand-woven natural fiber rush. On this armchair project we focused on exploring the in numerous possibilities of contrast and texture which only this material can provide. The piece was designed for verandas and is part of the collection which uses the names of the beaches on the coast of the state of Rio. Among the pieces in the collection are the Itaguaçu Sofa, the Marambaia chair, the Joatinga Armchair, and others. This type of rush (Typha domingensis) is a water plant which grows in Brazil, typically found in mangroves, swamps, bayous, creeks and other water reserves.
